Isla's mind spelt blank, as she could not find any dots to connect in her brain to make up any kind of words, or thoughts. It was just pure blank. 'Damon' this man seemed to have said. 

But it couldn't be him, why would he? What was she even doing with him, how did she end up with him?

Nothing made sense, there was no way Damon brought her here last night. She was with Ivan and Ben last night, in a place that was far away from both the office and his house, so how could he have brought her to the hospital. 

"I'm sorry, but I don't think you know what you're saying. There's only one Damon King I know, and at the moment, he is everything but kind to me. And there's no way he could have brought me here last night. I wasn't even with him. So it's either Ivan or Ben, and you just got the name wrong."

Isla's words only made Jake wonder what kind of life his friend had been living all this while to make it so hard for this lady to believe he was her savior.
