Kapitel 301: Friends are Food

It was a rather curious sight to witness, all things considered. For starters, it should've only been the bishops who had the ability to heal fellow pieces. If the pawn was able to do the same thing, then that would more or less invalidate the role of a bishop.

Though perhaps stranger was the horrified look in the rook's eyes.

It wasn't as though an enemy was approaching. They both bore black armor, showing which side they were on. From everything they've seen, as far as Kairos and the others are concerned, there shouldn't be a cause for concern.

Yet, before anything happened, Nicole's eyelids fell slightly upon witnessing the pawn coming closer. After the pawn came onto the same tile, he crawled on all fours before coming upon the corpse.

Then, he opened his mouth.

And took a bite.
