Kairos felt a little strange hearing the word dungeon. It wasn't as strong as a traumatic reaction, but he recalled that he had transformed into a monster within a dungeon, just not one that was above ground.
However, he soon got over it, instead posing an actual question.
"You said only the three of us? Shouldn't we also have others come join us as well?"
Nicole had an awkward smile on her face.
"Well... most of the people in the city still aren't quite strong. Even the ones who aren't too lacking in raw power don't have much conviction. Living in the walls all this time made them more civilians rather than fighters. It's part of why we are mocked. As for the ones that are strong enough, they all have their own reasons as to why they either want to stay in the city or don't want to go to the dungeon. Things like being able to earn points without combat or trauma."
Kairos scratched the side of his head.
"Well... I guess we can just go then."
Is there also suching thing as a cookening cookie?
