Kapitel 124: Chapter 124

|Renly Baratheon - Lord of the Stormland and the King in Highgarden|

"My lord! The southern wall has been breached!"

Dammit! What is happening?! How do they release all these explosions?! I take the spying glass from my man and look at the sea. I can see a line of ships in the distance releasing a cloud of smoke and explosion that can destroy our wall.

"Dammit! Are the ships not done yet?! We need to take them down!"

"My lord!"

"What?!"

I shout at the one coming at me.

"Stannis' Army has come, and they are using that weird weapon!"

"What did you say?!"

*BOOM* *BOOM*

I can hear another explosion coming from the north. I quickly run to the north, where I see many Stannis Army standing in the distance. I can see at least thirty devices that release the same smoke and explosion among his army.

"What the hell is going on?! Is he bending the knee to the dragon?!"

This is bad. I know that we have the biggest army in Westeros, but many of them died in the first battle against Stannis. As much as I don't want to admit it, Stannis is a great General and a tough person to fight. With less than a thousand men in his army, he can kill more than a thousand of our men.

It should not be a problem if not for many men deciding to desert from the fight. Killing our men from the shadows put fear into their hearts. 'Stannis did not need to kill your men, he only needed to inflict fear upon them to win the war' is what Lord Randyll Tarly told me about our situation.

At first, I didn't know what that meant, but now I understand. The number of dead is not why my men start to run away. It is how Stannis kills them. He kills them in such a savage way that it can make the bravest man quiver in fear.

He attacks at night and never once gives us rest. People start to get paranoid and slowly lose their minds.

He burned our supply and ensured we did not have enough food. Unsatisfied soldiers are the worst soldiers in the field.

Now he has that weapon?! We are in trouble.

"Renly."

I look to the side and see Loras and Lord Randyll walk toward me.

"Loras, Lord Randyll."

"We need to move and attack Stannis and his army. We cannot sit here and let them destroy all of our walls. We still don't know the range of that strange weapon. We don't know if they can reach this castle."

Lord Randyll says while looking at the sea.

"We also cannot let the Targaryen get on land. Lord Redwyne will arrive in an hour and take care of those people. For now, we need to take care of the one on the land."

I nod my head in understanding. Yeah. He is right.

"Very well. Take the soldiers you need and break Stannis and his army."

"Yes, my lord!"

Lord Randyll walks away, leaving Loras and me alone. I look him right in the eyes and give him a quick kiss.

"Come back to me in glory."

"Of course, Renly."

"They are truly taking the bait, huh?"

I nod my head and see a large amount of army coming out of the city.

"They are coming here. That means the plan is working. I will leave you to fire the signal."

"Of course"

After I hear his answer, I open up a portal and get through it. I can see my men waiting when I step out of the portal. This is our plan. With Stannis and his army landing through the Strait of Tarth, my men and I go south and arrive in Grandview city, the seat of the Grandison family, a family still loyal to Stannis.

From that city, we go through the mountainous area and arrive in the western part of Storm's End, hidden within a thick forest.

A hundred and thirty ships will stay south of Storm's End, bombarding the city and the wall with cannons. The rest of the ship goes further south to intercept the Redwyne Fleet. We only need to wait for Stannis to fire the signal, and we will start bombarding the Storm's End using cannons.

We have the high ground to make the reach of the cannon more effective.

We waited ten minutes before I could finally see a bright flare fly into the evening sky. I smile and get on my horse. I point my sword forward and say.

"Forward!"

|3rd POV|

The sound of cannons rings through the battlefield as a row of people running to the north tries to reach the cannons as fast as possible.

"Keep charging! Archer! Kill those bastards!"

Lord Randyll Tarly shouts at his men as he sees his foot soldier getting killed by the cannons. With the archer shooting their arrow, he decides to join the fight. While the foot soldier slowly gets closer, he notices something.

He notices the cannon need time to reload even with two cannon rotation formations.

"Cavalry! Get ready!"

He intensely looks at the cannon in the distance, and when he sees them reloading, he shouts.

"Charges!"

He and a thousand men charged at the enemy in the distance. Lord Randyll ignores all the incoming cannonballs and continues to ride. As they get closer, the pikemen of Stannis' Army walk forward and create a phalanx formation.

Following the phalanx are the musket men who stay on the higher ground to better view the enemy.

One by one, the cavalry gets impaled by the long, pointy pikes while the musket men fire their guns at the enemy.

While Lord Randy fights for his life in the frontline, Loras looks at the battlefield with a frown. He can see Lord Randyl did not move. Even if he and his army move, it is at a slow pace. He doesn't know how Stannis manages to use the environment to the fullest, but he needs to think of a way to defeat him.

He looks at the map and thinks of a strategy to defeat Stannis and his Army. He knows that he cannot fight them when the sun is gone. Stannis is a master of playing dirty. That is the only reason he is still in the war, even when fighting on two fronts.

*BOOM*

He snapped from his thoughts when the wall he stood on blew up. He gets thrown away from the impact, and his men quickly catch him before he falls down the wall. He gets to his feet and quickly takes cover inside the tower.

"Who the hell are they?! Give me that!"

He takes the spying glass and looks to the west. A second later, he knows who is the one attacking them. He knows that banner. The single roaring dragon on the background of silver, the Lunaria Targaryen. It was the personal banner of the King of Lunaria.

"Damnation!"
