At this point, the mall had been taken over by a group dressed in black and wearing black masks, and the security guards inside the mall dared not make any move under the threat of submachine guns, while the customers were squatting on the ground, faces stricken with fear.

Following the order, about a dozen people headed to the second and third floors of the mall, scanning the area with weapons, intimidating the crowds on these levels.

Meanwhile, news of the mall being held hostage by a mysterious group spread quickly to the Zhonghai police, and the chief of the Zhonghai Police Department, Hong Zhentao, immediately sensed the severity of the situation. He deployed all available law enforcement to the mall, including armed police and SWAT teams.

Within five minutes of the assailants taking control of the mall, police cars stopped outside, and groups of fully-armed police officers rushed out, their guns all pointed at the mall.

Inside one of the command vehicles, the chief of the police, Hong Zhentao, Deputy Chief Yan Feng, and several command officers from the SWAT and armed police teams were all gathered.

Among this group of men was a woman in a police uniform, her tall and impeccable figure accentuated by the tight uniform. Her bronze skin, short hair, and face exuded a touch of cold detachment.

Hong Zhentao's gaze turned to the beautiful yet detached female officer.

"Assemble everyone and prepare to attack. Check if there are any other entrances to the mall we can use to get in."

"Yes, Captain." The young policeman nodded and immediately left.

"For now, send someone to stabilize that group. You quickly come up with an action plan, and if it doesn't work out, I'll get in touch with the military district," said Hong Zhentao.
