Kapitel 16: Mom, Son, adopted Daughter
Year 12 Unknown Month
"Son, this is Chikage. I found her crawling her way out of the trash bin. I plan on making her my disciple and adopted to the kushinada. You don't mind right?" Asked mother while she gently pushed chikage forward. I'm surprised that she asked me whether it's okay for her to adopt Chikage to the kushinada. Probably she still felt guilty for all those years that she was not with me, and probably scared that I will resent her for suddenly taking another child, that is not related by blood to us, as her child. This is when I need to support her.

"Hello, chikage, nice to meet you. My name is Genji. My full name is either Arashi Genji or Kushinada Genji since I came from both clans. When you are Healthy enough, let's play and train together, okay? And you don't have to be shy with me, call me big brother" I replied to her.
"Oka...y Bi..g Br....other" Replied Chikage.
Now she is not hiding behind her, I can observe her, and I realize how bad is her condition
The current chikage look almost look like a skeleton, and I believe she should be around 6 years old, but she is so small. She is far from what a cute little girl her age should look like. This is what happened to most people, adults or children, that lack the necessary nutrients for their body for a long time.
Seeing her like this, I realize that no children should have experienced what chikage did, and there must be a lot more children like her. No child deserved to live like that. If adults live miserable lives, it's either their fault or even if they are not to fully blamed for their condition, they are still partially to be blamed for their condition. But children? it's purely either the parents or the environment they lived in to be blamed. After all, children are in a phase where they still do not comprehend the way of the world.
It's also the reason why I don't like the adults that exploited children for their gain. and unfortunately, no matter what era and country we lived in, there will always be some adults that do that.
I felt blessed that I have my clan and mom now. I know that I had a bad past too from my previous life, but there is nothing that I can do to change that besides embracing them in my heart. And I am grateful for my clan and mom. Especially mom. I know that my dad banged her, it's not out of for love that I wished for my parents to be, but because of the bet they made.
