Kapitel 171: It Runs In The Family
Ryuu followed Ichika from the shadows, erasing his presence using his ashes.
"I was wondering why you took so long, my darling."
"Sorry, I had to give my bodyguard new instructions, he's so stupid it's unbearable," Ichika stated with a slight smug.
'Take it easy, Ichika…'
Ryuu thought as he observed them from above.
Two hours later, the ceremony began, and the honored guest arrived.
He was an old man with barely any hair on his head, only four strings of grey hair stayed laying back.
'So that's him? He looks a lot shorter than he does in the bingo book. I could've taken him out by myself, but I promised Ichika we'd do it together.'
Ryuu thought as he observed from above.
Koruki wore a black suit and used a stick with a golden skull at the top to walk, other than that there was nothing odd about him.
Beside him were two men wearing black owl masks, they were almost giant-like; they had enormous muscles and stood nearly seven feet tall; they wore black suits and wore dark shades.
'Shades inside a building… How annoying…' Ryuu thought.
"Koruki-sama!" Genjiro went and gave him a firm handshake before pulling him closer and whispering something in his ear.
Once they stopped greeting each other, Genjiro changed gloves once again, this time he had washed his hands before putting them on.
Ichika found this tedious and asked,
"What's taking you so long? Is there a problem?"
"My apologies dear, I haven't even introduced you two." Genjiro walked Ichika to Koruki and introduced them.
"Koruki-sama, this is Ichika Senju, great-granddaughter of the God of Shinobi, and she's one of the last pure wood release users in existence."
Koruki moved his old wrinkly hand and greeted Ichika with a smile.
"I'm Koruki Matsumo, it's a pleasure to meet you, Genjiro has told me all about you and it is an honor.
I think of him as a son."
"Ichika-chan, let's have a drink together and celebrate this occasion."
"Of course! It would be rude for me to refuse."
They had drinks together and told stories and laughed before the ceremony was about to begin.
'It's almost my cue.' Ryuu activated his Sharingan.
Just as they were beginning, Koruki stood up to say something.
"Before we continue, I would like to say something."
'What now?' Ichika thought.
"There's a leaf shinobi among us."
"Gasp…" Ichika held her mouth in shock.
'This isn't good, what if he already knows about the plan?' Ryuu clenched his fist.
"Whoever you are, reveal yourself before I start taking lives."
Suddenly, Koruki's voice got deeper and more serious.
'We were right, this is a trap.'
"I have multiple bombs planted everywhere in and outside this tunnel.
I will detonate all of them if you don't reveal yourself.
Ryuu Uchiha."
Ryuu's eyes widened.
"Hmph, that's impossible, I'm sure a big shot like Ryuu Uchiha would be too busy for us, anyway. Right, Genjiro?"
Genjiro snapped and said,
"Shut up, woman."
Ichika frowned.
"Don't even try doing anything, I'll kill you too.
What do you think was in that expensive wine I bought you?"
Ichika clenched her fist and glared at him.
"You can't kill me, and none of your shinobi can as well."
Ichika's fist loosened, and she started trembling.
She looked at her fist and wobbled a little.
'Poison…'
"All this time together yet you still don't know just how powerful I am.
I never trusted you.
From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were too good to be true.
I had an old friend do a thorough search on Ichika Senju.
Turns out, you're that Shinobi Scourge's girlfriend.
You are also the last remaining wood release user since your great-grandfather.
I kept you as a lover only for promotion; multiple clients of mine want your cells, so today I'll give them a live sample."
Ryuu looked at the door and saw multiple people heading inside.
"You, Ryuu Uchiha! I know about your stupid mutt destroying the bombs here, but I made other bombs in different areas of the town, too.
Hidden where no ordinary mutt can find them.
If you don't reveal yourself in ten seconds, I'll kill your girlfriend and all those innocent people.
I don't have the remote for the bomb, but I already activated a seal that drains chakra from her.
Make your decision fast, you bastard."
Ryuu left a transparent jutsu and removed his ash from his body.
He jumped from the roof and multiple people surrounded him with Kunai's and many weapons pointed at his throat.
"Alright, I'm here, quit your whining."
Genjiro had a smirk on his face.
"The true guest of honor has arrived.
Tell me, do you remember the name Kurai Matsumo?" Ryuu smirked.
"You never forget your first," Ryuu said with a sadistic smile.
"First? What is he talking about, Ryuu?"
"Quiet woman!" Genjiro shouted.
"No need to be rude, Genjiro."
Genjiro smiled.
"What are you going to do about it? You have at least twenty people pointing their weapons directly at your throat, you don't have many options, do you?"
"That's it? I have multiple options.
For one, I-" Ryuu was hit with the hilt of his stick before he could say another word.
"Kurai Matsumo was my nephew, and you killed him mercilessly, all you have to say about him was that he was your first?"
Ryuu nodded.
"Yes, and?" He gritted his teeth and swung his stick again, smacking Ryuu.
"Being a spineless shit runs in the family."
Saying that, Ryuu got hit again and again.
A minor cut on the top of Ryuu's eye appeared, and blood started pouting out slightly.
"Hey! That's enough!" Ichika yelled.
"What do you want?!" Ichika asked.
"I want your boyfriend to suffer as I did.
I want him to lose a loved one just as I did, and then I'll kill him too…
Eventually."
Ryuu grit his teeth.
"You think I haven't lost loved ones?"
Ryuu frowned, and his Sharingan activated.
"I've lost more than you can imagine, you aren't mad that I killed your cousin, you're simply mad because you finally realized what it is to be on the other side of the glass."
Ryuu clenched his fist, and they all moved closer to him, the tips of their weapons all on him.
"You did all that research on Ichika, and you don't even consider the fact that she was Orochimaru's best student, even though they barely trained."
Ryuu said with a smug look.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Genjiro asked.
"Woah!" Ichika swung him towards the two bodyguards near Ryuu.
"Rasengan!"
A large dark arm extended from Ryuu with a Rasengan and hit Genjiro, sending him flying back.
Ryuu took this opportunity and freed himself, he removed a scroll and unsealed a Katana.
Ryuu jumped and spun around, throwing his Katana through two people's chests.
"Wood style-" Ichika tried infusing chakra but realized she still had the seal on her body.
"Get him!" Genjiro yelled at his shinobi as he got up.
"Sharingan: genjutsu!"
With a single glance, Ryuu put everyone in a genjutsu strong enough that they dropped their weapons and fell whimpering.
The battle wasn't over, Ryuu dodged an attack from two people swinging from both sides by jumping, making them stab each other's chests.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Two Kunai headed towards Ryuu, one of them had an explosion tag, Ryuu caught them and took out the tag and placed it on another shinobi then kicked him into Kamui.
"Lightning shuriken jutsu!"
Ryuu charged the kunai with lightning and threw the kunai with so much force it passed straight through four heads.
"What are you two meatheads standing around for? Get him!" Koruki yelled.
"Yes, boss."
The two bodyguards ran towards Ryuu.
One of them swung their fist towards Ryuu and Ryuu dodged it and countered with an elbow and placed a seal.
"Hueargh!" He coughed after an elbow directly to his kidney.
The other one took out a chakra blade and started swinging.
Ryuu dodged backward, making him miss multiple swings, and then Ryuu hit his back on the wall, giving him an advantage.
He went for a strong downward swing towards Ryuu.
Fwoosh!
Ryuu teleported the other one in front of him.
Splash! Blood splattered on the floor.
"Brother!" His eyes widened after seeing his blade slicing through his brother's chest.
"Purple lightning!" Ryuu didn't waste time and opened a hole in his chest using purple lightning.
"Enough of these games!"
Koruki yelled while holding two Katana that leaked poison.
Fun fact of the day: Once taken into Ryuu's impure world, even someone who's an inch from death stays that way until Ryuu releases them.
