The court had not given me custody but they allowed Marianne to have the surgery. It was honestly the most grueling thing I must have done in my life. A part of me expected the media to be all over the news but there was not one reporter. My Uncle was really effective in that aspect if you think about it, but then, he stood the most to lose if the masses found out about this case. What would that say about him as a person?

Now I had to wait a few weeks for investigations and the final verdict, to decide if Marianne would come live with me. Not the best to my advantage, because there was already news of the giant lawsuit those two were preparing to throw at me. But at the end of the day with this job and my current profession, plus the fact that Marianne and I shared the exact same combination of DNA I was the better option for a guardian. It would be a grueling process but I was still the favored option.
