Kapitel 29: Future Party
Once they reached morning class, Airi sat down and occupied Nagisa's usual seat.
"What do you think you are doing?" Nagisa asked.
Airi turned her head to him.
"The seats are unassigned, remember?" She casually smiled and snatched his seat.
Nagisa sat down on Chisa's usual one.
"But where do I sit?!" Chisa fussed.
"How about to my right?" Nagisa attempted a casual like Airi's.
However Chisa punched his shoulder in response angrily and sat down in her new seat next to him. Miyuki and his little group looked over at Nagisa's group, displeased and chose to whisper to one another.
"So it is true then… they did bond over the demon excursion like someone told us…" Sakai whispered.
"Yeah… someone did mention that he saw Airi returning to the dormitories afterwards with him…" Ayato pinched in.
"What do we do next? This will make it harder to target both Airi and Nagisa now that the three of them are together," Daiki complained.
They turned to look for answers to Miyuki.
"Leave it for now… we do not know Airi's nor Chisa's full strength," Miyuki yawned.
Miyuki lied to them, he knew Nagisa was hiding something as well after their fight. Chitose entered class and closed the door behind her as the bell rang.
"Okay, we have new matters to discuss," Chitose started.
She began to draw on the whiteboard.
"As you all know, Nagisa and Airi managed to locate and exterminate the demon yesterday..." Chitose mentioned them.
"The academy has decided on its next step and although it is a bit early, we have decided to make you form parties early for future demon extractions," Chitose finished drawing on the whiteboard.
Chitose then started to talk how they had up until Friday by the latest to form their parties and submit it to her. People chatted during class preemptively suggesting a couple of possible party groups amongst themselves and asking each other.
"You can continue your conversations during lunch! Now, I will continue where we left off on the demon topic from yesterday," Chitose interrupted the class' chit-chat and held her lesson.
After class the Nagisa and the two girls headed for lunch together at the school canteen. They sat down and both stared at Nagisa.
"So… what is the plan here?" Nagisa asked while sipping his drink.
Airi and Chisa shared a look and both sighed.
"Do you even have to ask?" Chisa replied.
"Is it not obvious?" Airi said next.
Nagisa scratched the back off his head and leaned back into his chair.
"Yeah… but I thought I would ask to be sure," Nagisa leaned back forward.
"Are we forming a party together then?" Nagisa bluntly stated.
Both Chisa and Airi broke eye contact with him.
"Maybe if you ask us, we will join you," Airi curled her hair.
"Yeah, it is not like we need you," Chisa stroke down one of her bangs.
Nagisa was the one now sighing.
"Chisa. Airi. Would you please form a party with me?" Nagisa smiled and they turned back around.
"If that is what you want, then sure, I am in," Chisa smiled.
"Since you asked, sure, why not," Airi smiled as well.
Nagisa almost had it with the two of them. Their behavior was lost on him. He let another sigh out.
"Great, then let's make it official and tell Chitose tomorrow morning," Nagisa dug in and started eating.
Both Airi and Chisa were a bit displeased that he was not more thrilled about it. Then suddenly someone else sat down with them.
"Why the sour faces ladies? Do you mind if I join you for a second?" Daiki sat himself down before even asking.
"Ah come on, ladies, here I thought Nagisa did something stupid to upset you, do not direct your anger at me!" Daiki laughed.
"What do you want?" Airi inquired.
"Nothing from you, I am here for Chisa. Come join me and Miyuki, I know our party will do wonders together," Daiki smirked.
However Chisa chose not to entertain him and refused to answer. Miyuki walked past them.
"Come on Daiki, I told you she would refuse, however…" Miyuki put his arms around Nagisa for a second to lean in and whisper.
"You are always free to join us, then we can resume our fun together," Miyuki whispered in Nagisa's right ear.
Nagisa knocked away his arm and stared intently at Miyuki before putting a casual and neutral smile.
"No, thank you, we are happy with just the three of us," Nagisa smiled knowing this would just excite Miyuki more as it was his favorite expression.
Miyuki laughed, "Very well then, Daiki, come on let's go," Miyuki signaled Daiki and they left for the upstairs area.
Chisa and Airi complained how they could not stand either one of them, especially Daiki. Nagisa did not even bother to join in and mention since he knew Miyuki was worse and the ringleader behind it all. After lunch when they exited the canteen, Chisa walked ahead then turned her head.
"I need to go help my father with something this afternoon, see you guys later! Nagisa you are cooking for us again tonight by the way," Chisa waved them off and disappeared.
This was no news for Nagisa. He heard Airi and Chisa murmuring to each other to guilt trip him for the morning's incident for dinner. Nagisa chose to quietly obey and feign ignorance to this matter to not upset either of them any further.
"Let's head for the library, shall we?" Airi grabbed Nagisa's hand.
"What? Wait… why?" Nagisa blushed and was taken by surprise by her sudden aggressive move.
Airi rolled her eyes a bit.
"I am not going to do anything to you! We are picking off where we last left our conversation, remember? About our abilities!" Airi blushed a bit as well then dragged Nagisa along.
They proceeded towards the library and found a quiet section on the upper floor. Airi tapped the orb and the bubble formed to ensure their absolute privacy. She stared at Nagisa.
"So where were we?" Airi tried to remember.
