[A/N: I know I have been calling the Chunin at the exam site as Instructors, but I just learned a word called Proctor. Sorry, it fits much better, and I would have used it earlier if my English vocabulary was better. :( Feel free to enrich my knowledge so that I can use more and better words for... well, anything. Seriously, feel free to tell me different ways to phrase things or build sentences.]
The moment those words left his mouth, he did something which surely shocked them all. From his studies, he noticed something subtle in between the lines of the four books Senju Tobirama had written.
If can you learn properly his teachings about Chakra, not only can the distance to learn Nature Transformation be halved, an advanced Chakra Control Technique can also be learned, and while it wasn't graded nor had any specific name in the books, it was truly frightening and full of potential.
The trick was spreading chakra throughout either all of your body or just a part of it, like a limb, making it something similar to a chakra battery, then the chakra had to be released like a coat but forcefully held down so it doesn't spread away from the range of your control. The chakra then must be kneaded together, condensed, and stabilized, the stronger your body and the stronger your Chakra, the higher the input of energy could be generated!
The kids around his age most surely would not be able to do this. Even though no chakra hand seals are needed to mold it, who among his peers had enough reaction time, precision, and such a high level of chakra control to be able to use it in such an ingenious way?
The Proctors staring at Tetsuya could figure out the process behind his actions with their years of experience, but between everyone here today, only Kakashi was sure that he could do the same given a few more months of Chakra control training, as he had also learned the existence of such technique hidden quietly in between the material given by the Academy.
Tetsuya who learned it speculated over the meaning behind hiding such a lethal technique in a children's book for a long time, but he had yet to find a reason for that, as he had too little information to emulate Tobirama's train of thought. The best he could come up with was that this was a hidden test to separate those students with great insight from those without it, as this technique alone could put any student at the Genin level right away!
The moment Tetsuya's fist covered in faint blue flames reached the ground, a loud explosion resounded in their ears as a dust cloud rose high into the air, covering the whole place in a layer of dust mist.
"Cough..."
With coughs all around, one of the Proctors raised his hand and did a sequence of hand seals, a second later, he cast a wave of wind that dispelled the mist.
Looking at Tetsuya, Hiroko tried to smile but he was honestly frightened. This level of strength was enough to instantly kill anyone at the Chunin level if they were caught off guard. Not even Kurenai that rendered him powerless for two seconds could make him this wary.
When the Proctors looked at him, Tetsuya just smiled mischievously without minding the huge crater he had created at the training ground, nor the fright he gave to his fellow schoolmates.
From afar, the Lord Hokage had left his office and was standing on the Academy's ceiling, his eyes locked on Tetsuya and beaming with surprise. "Izumi Tetsuya... this level of talent... Haah, you remind me of Minato. Could it be that this will be a repetition of that generation? Where a civilian takes the lead in the rush for power?" Hiruzen wasn't sure, but the fright he got when he heard that explosion was real, he never expected to see someone so talented right on the day of the entrance examination.
The Proctors who had gathered together to discuss something had finally reached a consensus and turned back to look at Tetsuya who had been standing there while waiting to know whether or not he had passed.
Mito was the one to step forward, he lifted the list that Hiroko gave him and wrote something on a piece of paper, before cutting it away from the page and giving it to him.
"Izumi Tetsuya, congratulations on being accepted at the Academy, this is the number of your classroom. Be here at seven in the morning by Monday."
The children hearing that were stunned silly. How could it be? Why was he accepted ahead of the others? Kakashi who saw that shook his head and explained with a loud voice so that everyone could hear.
"He got accepted already because that technique which the level of complexity is comparable to B-rank Ninjutsu, not only requires a very refined level of Chakra Control, it also has a harsh requirement for the user's physic. If you aren't strong enough and try to use it like him, there will be a backlash capable of crippling all of the pressure points in your arm."
When they heard Kakashi's evaluation, every single one of them felt enlightened as they understood the situation.
Obito who was nodding at this suddenly frowned and stood up as he pointed at Kakashi. "Oi! Stop pretending you understand this! If the difficulty is so high like you claim it to be, how would even know all that!?"
Everyone turned to look at Obito, and before either Kakashi or the Proctors could explain, the girl seating beside him, Nohara Rin stood up and bonked him in the head, making them all speechless.
"Aggh! Rin! What was that for!?"
"Stop making trouble, Obito!"
"Eh!?" Before he could complain, Rin pushed his ear lobe and forced him to sit down as he cried in pain.
At that moment, before anyone could react, Hiruzen flashed on the training ground out of nowhere startling everyone.
Before they could even react, he looked at Tetsuya with the pipe in his hand, and while still smoking he explained the technique that Tetsuya had just used. "Kakashi is correct on all of his assumptions, in fact, this technique was created by Lord Second when he was creating the Academy curriculum and it was derived from the Akimichi's way of using Yang release, plus his initial research on medical ninjutsu. The name he gave it is Chakra Enhanced Strenght."
Hearing this, Tetsuya himself was stunned, so there was such a story behind this technique? Even though he said all that, Tetsuya noticed that he didn't explain the reason behind Lord Second hiding this technique so subtly in the academy's books.
Seeing his questioning gaze, Hiruzen smiled at how intelligent this kid was. Not having any intention of telling him the whole truth, he smiled and turned away to leave, but unbeknownst to everyone there, he left a few words for Tetsuya only through some unknown technique, making sure that only he could hear it.
"Since you've managed to do it, I'll give you an opportunity. So long as you can learn the Mystical Palms Technique created by Lord First, I'll tell you how to find my disciple Tsunade, and give you something that she can't refuse. If you are lucky, she will teach you her signature technique, but don't put too much faith in this, not everyone can learn biology, herbology, medicine, and advanced Chakra control."
The moment he left, a commotion broke out with exciting discussions floating all around.
Seeing all this, Tetsuya only smiled helplessly as he gave Kakashi a look of respect for having noticed all that and bid his farewell to Guy who had yet to go through the last test.
On his way to his home, he thought about the Hokage's words and motive. A man of such prestige wouldn't make an appearance without reason. 'He must think that I am talented, but he would probably be shocked at the amount of hard work I put into this.
'Without my intellect, it would have been impossible to grasp the central points revolving around Chakra so that I could create a near-perfect development path. Only by knowing your own weakness can you learn how to become strong. Who would have thought that my plan of action devised purely to be able to compete with the members of those powerful Clans would lead to this?'
While others might think highly of Tetsuya, he knew very well just how many shortcomings he had.
Both Hatake Kakashi and the Sarutobi Asuma who were from old and powerful clans had a higher amount of Chakra than him, as well as genetical advantages, if he had followed the normal development path, it would probably take him decades to achieve the level they will have in less than a decade.
And that's only in comparison with those from relatively normal clans, in comparison with someone from the fabled Uzumaki that had gone extinct, or the Senju, or the Uchiha and so on, he could only hope to not be left behind, as any genius from those clans would soar towards the heaven faster than the speed of light.
In the end, Tetsuya could only sigh as he thought about that. Although he knows that there is no real limit to how far he can go with Natural Effort, he also knows that if that kid, Kakashi, for example, is to maintain a similar training routine as his, he would be left behind in just two years, and in a decade the difference in power would be such that the two would be in completely different stages.
It is for this reason and others, that he must study Chakra to its limit, and the DNA of the people in this world as soon as possible. Without genetic enhancing therapies, he might die before reaching his desirable level of power.
Thankfully, as a military of high rank, he had learned almost everything there was to learn in his previous world. Genetic and toys were practically the same to him, so long as he could put his hands in some worthy genetic material and tools, it probably wouldn't take long for him to start developing towards his goals and objectives.
That, of course, is merely the initial stage of his plans. As he had said previously, Chakra was also another important thing to understand because if Chakra is anywhere near Arcane energy, it might hide secrets to immortality and universal laws just like Arcane and Psionic energy.
Although in his previous life he had died before finishing his own researches, he was so near the secret to eternal life that he could practically feel it in his hands. This time, he will make sure to achieve that goal, and live his life without regrets.
Hours later, as Tetsuya walked down the road drowned in his thoughts. In an underground basement with countless floors. Shimura Danzo read through a report with interest in his eyes.
The Root Shinobi that gave him the report just stared at him without saying anything, he knows that whenever his master, Danzo, was drawn into a report like that, was because his interest had been picked.
The report was very objective and straight to the point, it had the grades and observations of every single one of the more than two hundred applicants to enroll at the Academy, from grades, the creativity of the answers, level of insight, current combat power, the estimated level of talent, background, clan, rate of possibly being an implanted spy and so on.
The list was divided by the level of talent, and surprisingly, even though Tetsuya's performance was so eye-catchy, he was still placed at number 3, right below Sarutobi Asuma. His profile page's remarks section stated that his family was of civilian origin and that only one distant relative was found to be of any interest, but that was more than seven generations ago, and that ancestors inheritance had been so watered down that he couldn't even physically manifest it in his eyes.
That's right, his eyes. Even Danzo was surprised by this information. Who would have thought that his ancestrality was so deep to the point of going even to the time of the village's foundation, still, it was worthless since his family had stopped inheriting that Doujutsu Kekkei Genkai more than five generations ago. If that wasn't the case, he might have been able to use him to build up a new Hyuga clan all by himself to serve him in the shadows by using him...
"What a pity... If only your ancestors weren't so interested in civilians. Sigh, what a lack of foresight from them." Shaking his head, he put down a report full of pages and asked the man standing patiently beside him. "Pay attention to Sakumo's son, make sure that once the war starts he gets to hear every rumor about his father."
"Yes, Lord Danzo!" Bowing, the man leaped and disappeared in the thin air.
If you're reading this, know that I'm currently thinking of making him acquire the Byakugan, and later the Tenseigan, both through medical experiments and study of genetics. That's why I opened up a path for that right here, but that's not decided yet, so... feel free to give me your opinion.
