Kapitel 39: Bartender
I walk into the city hiding in the pouring rain covering everyone, I walk passed no one even glances my way, I turn left going to an alleyway, I look up and see a black cloth covering the roof of a small vendor shop, I look inside the vendor shop and see the man running the shop is passed out on his chair, I reach up ripped the cloth off of the roof, before dashing up the wall and sitting on the edge of a roof, Just by running a small wall my legs are shot shaking rapidly, blood is leaking out the deep cuts in them, Ignoring the pain I stand up wrapping the cloth around my body before tying a knot in the front right next to my neck,
I leave a small amount of cloth to use as my hood and for a mask, I place the hood on my head and the mask over my mouth before jumping down onto the street, it's not really a street more of a muddy path using small pebbles to shape the roads, I continue walking looking at the many signs on wooden cabins, unlike the city I went to last time the wood here is dark, making the cabins look dull and lifeless, I continue walking until I read the world pub, I was going ignore until I saw on the sign that the first drink is free, I stop walking, and slide through the crowd of people leaving the place,
I walk up the dark wooden steps walking into the entrance, there are four massive tables separated like a cross leaving just enough room to walk, my cloak begins dripping water on the floor while I'm walking towards the main bartender, It's a small orange girl mixing drinks handing them out, she wearing suspenders with a white button up shirt underneath, I walk up to her pulling a bar stool for me to sit on,
I sit down and wait for the woman to come to talk to me, I close my eyes for a second and instantly I almost pass out, my head drops a little before I raise it back up. I slightly shake my head before I hear the woman walking towards me behind the desk,
" What can I do for you today sir, " She says with a bright smile, I look up at the menu before holding up the number three, she quickly turns around grabs a drink, and pours it into a shot glass, she slides it to me,
The liquid in the glass is green, I grab the glass globing down the drink, I slam the glass on the desk, It wasn't too strong,
" I hope it wasn't too strong for your liking sir, " she says with a happy voice,
" It wasn't too strong, " her eyes widen before slightly turning her head, I look at the woman confused, did she somehow figure out who I was?
" Hey, where are you from you have quite an odd accent. " That makes sense I am from an entirely different planet, I point to my glass,
" You'll have to pay for this one," she says about to grab the bottle again,
"No, for me to answer your question you need to give an another shot, " she stares at me before nodding her head, she pours the liquid into the glass I instantly drink it before rubbing my mouth,
" Do you know the village that got destroyed recently, I guess you can say I'm from there, but I spent most of my time in the desert, "
She was about to speak again until loud drunk laughter was heard at the table on her left, It was a man missing an arm, talking to three women with a beer glass in his hands half empty, " Yea, the monster was huge but I and my men scared it away, sent it running. " the man begins drinking rapidly,
" Are you from the same village that he is from? " the bartender asked me, I nod my head at her before looking back at the man, he sent me fleeing, like hell he did,
" Did it really go as he said it went or is he lying? " she said to me, A small grin appeared on my face before I point at the glass again, she puffs out her cheeks before pouring another shot, I drink rubbing my mouth,
"Let's say there's a reason we are drinking right now, that monster destroyed our entire village, when I woke up only one house remained everything else even the trees were destroyed, " I stare into her eyes before leaning back into my chair grabbing my head,
"What's that yellow thing on your face, " she asks me with a perplexed look on her face, Damn I completely forgot about my scouter, I think quickly on my feet,
" I really don't know, it's something my grandparents gave to me, and I have worn it ever since, " a small grin appears on her face,
" You finally didn't ask me for another shot to answer a question, " before I could respond I hear two men enter the pub, they quickly walk to the table on the right, just next to the door, but those men look familiar, wait there the men I fought that wore tuxedos so I didn't kill them when I transformed what a shame, I look back at the bartender before standing up,
" I best leave now, " I say turning around leaving but before I could leave she reaches out and grabs my arm, she yanked me back, I snap my head at her and glare at her but she looks shocked her eyes were almost bulging out of her head,
" How are you even moving with these injuries, was fighting the monster really that bad, " I look at her confused,
" How did you know what my injuries are, " I say to her forcing her hand off my arm.
" I'm a medic with a single touch I can sense your injuries and you are completely covered in them," She says looking at me with concerned eyes,
" Yes, the fight killed my entire village but don't worry about me, it makes things harder to do, " I say to her walking away,
" What did he mean by makes things harder " she murmurs to herself before I walk out the door...
