Kapitel 43: Little Garden pt. 1
The ship sailed to the next island slowly, running into the crazy weather on the Grandline. Thirteen was sitting at the back of the ship alone, staring out to the sea, while Vivi was in the front with the rest.
She looked to the back of the deck every now and then, biting her nails and thinking to herself. Nami talked to her sometimes but the others didn't really talk to her very much and the only thing Nami talked to her about was the money from bringing her to Alabasta.
Luffy hummed to himself, Sanji made food, Usopp worked on his inventions, and Zoro slept.
Vivi felt a bit ostracized from the crew, though they weren't mean or short with her, they weren't exactly friendly either. She was a bit lonely, but she had Caroo, who sat with her all the time.
She nibbled on her lips and stood up, walking towards the back of the deck. As she reached the stairs to the upper deck where Thirteen was, Zoro held out his sheathed sword in front of her, stopping her from continuing.
Vivi stopped and looked at him, saying "I just wanted to-" Zoro cut her off and said "I don't think you have to do anything. You've done enough." Vivi opened her mouth but no words came out, she closed it and looked around at everyone looking at her.
Luffy turned his head to the side and looked at her with one eye, while Sanji, Nami, and Usopp glanced at her. She sighed and went back to her spot, sitting down and minding her own business.
Zoro took his sword back and sat down on the steps, yawning, while Sanji, Usopp, and Nami continued doing what they do, in silence. Luffy looked at Vivi before turning his attention to Nami, who looked at him.
He blinked and grinned before turning back to the sea, while Nami rolled her eyes and walked to Vivi. Zoro grunted and walked up the stairs, going to Thirteen, shouting "Big Cat! Let's train."
Thirteen's eyes twitched and his tail flicked as he got up, nodding at Zoro. Sanji looked up at them and said "Hold on, I'm making lunch." Zoro smirked at him and replied "Hurry up, Dartbrow. We're starting." Sanji clicked his tongue and walked to the kitchen, grumbling "Damn Mosshead bastard…"
As Zoro and Thirteen started training, without Sanji, Nami sat next to Vivi saying "Hey! You okay?" Vivi looked at her and nodded, Nami patted her shoulder and said "Actually, don't be upset. It's not you, that Mosshead isn't good with words. Thirteen is really strong and if he wants to kill you, maybe only Luffy can stop him."
Vivi looked at Nami, who smiled and added "So don't worry about it, we know you're a good person. It's for your safety that you're here." Vivi managed a weak smile and Nami put on a brave look saying "We ARE your bodyguards after all! We won't get any money if you're a corpse!"
She giggled and Vivi smiled softly as Sanji walked out of the kitchen, saying "Lunch is ready!" Nami looked at him before getting up and holding out a hand to Vivi, smiling as she said "Come on!"
Vivi looked at her hand and smiled, taking her hand and standing up as Nami talked to her about Alabasta on the way to the kitchen.
Luffy flew by and smashed into the door of the kitchen, disappearing from view. The next thing everyone heard was Sanji screaming "YOU DAMN RUBBER BALL THAT WAS NAMI-SWAN'S PLATE! I'LL KILL YOU!" and Luffy's laughing.
A few days later~
The Merry finally stopped at an island, Thirteen's ears twitched and he held his backpack on his shoulders, standing at the edge of the deck, looking at the jungle in front of them.
Usopp gasped and said "Wow! These trees are so big!"
Suddenly, a giant Sabertooth tiger jumped out of the jungle, looking at the Merry. Usopp squealed and jumped onto the mast, shouting "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" The Giant Sabertooth tiger looked at Thirteen and growled.
Thirteen tilted his head and his tail flicked behind him, the Sabertooth suddenly bowed its head and backed away, disappearing into the jungle, leaving the ship alone. Everyone turned to Thirteen in surprise.
Thirteen blinked at the jungle and Luffy jumped onto him, shouting "WOAH! SO COOOOOOOL! YOU CAN TALK TO TIGERS!?" Thirteen shook his head and Luffy was about to speak, when a dinosaur popped out of the forest and screeched, Luffy turned his head to the dinosaur and shouted "A DINOSAUR!" before punching the dinosaur in the face and running after it, adding "Vivi, come with me!"
He didn't really give her much of a choice as his arms wrapped around her and Caroo, pulling them along as they disappeared amidst Vivi's screams and Caroo's squawks.
Zoro patted Thirteen's shoulder, chuckling "So you ARE a Tiger." Sanji rested his elbow on Thirteen's shoulder and smirked "Though you look like a house cat to me." Thirteen blinked at them, not saying anything.
Sanji clicked his tongue and added "At least say something." Zoro looked at Sanji and smirked, "He doesn't talk to weak chefs, loverboy." Sanji had a vein pop on his forehead as he shouted "Say that again, Mosshead! As if you can understand the Cat's silence with that muscle brain of yours!"
Zoro shouted "I can understand better than you can! He doesn't speak in food, does he? You're useless here." Sanji cracked his knuckles and laughed "Oh yeah? Useless? I can catch a bigger dinosaur than you can, I'd put my love for Nami-swan on it."
Nami chimed in "I don't love you though."
Sanji ignored her and Zoro smirked "You want to challenge ME? Maybe you'll win in your dreams but this is real life, Dartbrow." Sanji lit a cigarette and replied "Bigger dinosaur wins, Swordboy." Zoro grinned and the duo jumped off the ship, dashing into the jungle.
Thirteen looked around, he wiped his face of the saliva. They argued right in his face and spat saliva everywhere.
Nami walked over and held Thirteen's arm, saying "Aha… Please don't leave me."
Usopp grabbed Thirteen's other arm and quipped "I'd rather get eaten by you than a dinosaur." as he shook tremendously, going in and out of consciousness with an iron grip on Thirteen's arm, as if he wouldn't let go even if he was dead.
Thirteen lifted his arms and the duo latched onto them with their legs. He put his arms down and the duo were just hanging there, sitting on his chains. He scratched his head with Usopp's nose before weighing his arms.
He tilted his head and jumped to the mast, unfurling his chains, wrapping them around the wooden beam and hanging in the air doing sit ups in mid air with his arms back for extra weight.
Nami and Usopp went jump and down repeatedly. Usopp looked at Nami and asked "If he using us for extra weight?" Nami nodded seriously and said "I think so." Usopp looked back and answered "Hm. I see." Nami shouted "DON'T USE ME AS A WEIGHT YOU BRICK-HEAD!"
A while later
Thirteen, who still had Nami and Usopp on his arms, was sitting on the deck, reading the Devil Fruit book. Usopp pointed to a page and said "Oh that one's cool!" Nami looked at him and said "The Invisible one?" Usopp nodded and replied "It would be really easy to hide!"
Nami rolled her eyes and looked at the book before pointing to one and saying "This one is cool!" Usopp clicked his tongue and said "The cloud fruit? What are you going to do with a cloud fruit? Sleep on a cloud?"
Nami felt a vein pop on her forehead as she answered "Obviously an idiot like you doesn't see how strong it is! Do you know how many clouds there are? You can make thunderstorms with a swing of your arm!" Usopp turned white as Nami continued "Hailstorms, Snowstorms, Thunderstorms, Rainstorms…"
Usopp shouted "Stop! Stop! I'm gonna piss myself!" Thirteen looked at him and Usopp shook, saying "Hahahah… Just kidding! Hah… Please stop looking at me."
Suddenly!
A giant dinosaur appeared from the jungle and screeched, shooting its jaws at the Merry for a tasty little snack. Nami and Usopp shrieked while Thirteen looked at the dinosaur. His ear twitched and he turned his head to see a giant axe falling from the sky, chopping the dinosaur's head off.
The dinosaur's head fell to the ground and the trio looked at the Giant Person, holding the axe. He had armor on with a viking helmet and a giant beard. He picked up the head with one hand and laughed "Nice!" before turning his attention to the trio.
He crouched down and grinned "Hello, little people! I'm Brogy!"
