What Carlisle didn't know was it mattered not what choice they made, they would meet Edward again, and when they did it would be an all-out fight for their survival, where they would have to turn to the most unlikely person to survive.
After all, Edward had long since decided to rat them out to the Volturi and had already followed through with his thoughts.

"They're all dead, how could they? how could they? how could they? how could they?!!" the same voice shouted.
the rage and sadness have become stronger as a woman could be seen behind a tree with black liquid streaming down her face, and her exposed hands were filled with cracks, this was definitely not a human woman, but a vampire.
This Tanya the leader of the Denali coven consisting of Kate, Eleazar, Carmen and
Garrett, who are at this moment already dead.
The attack was swift and ruthless leaving them no chance to retaliate, as even their supposed ally in Edward was a part of the group that destroyed her family.
The only reason she is alive right now is that she wasn't there when they attacked and only returned after, but the murderers hadn't left yet exposing their identity to her,
Tanya was overcome with anger and sadness, but she was somehow still able to see the situation clearly, the moment they were alerted of her presence she ran, and ran with all her might but they followed her.
Through some kind of blessing, Tanya was able to lose the vampires following her enough to have a moment to let her sadness overwhelm her.
The reason didn't matter, she was sure her family did nothing to deserve this, then her thoughts when to Edward, he was standing looking at the dead body on the ground no emotion on his face, and from the conversation, she had heard before she ran, Edward wasn't being forced, he had betrayed the other Cullens.
This shocked her, but it also gave her a reason to run, Carlisle was very close to her and she didn't want them to die, and she knew for sure that is what would happen if they got to forks before her.
Having decided she had been sad enough, for now, Tanya sped off once again in the direction of forks.

Back in Forks, the Cullens had gone back to living in their house spending their time however they wanted.
Things weren't what they used to be, the family wasn't as happy as they were before, Bella had exposed them for what they really felt, now they couldn't deny it and could only live with it.
But Edward could only blame himself for this, if anything the Cullens had backed him up longer than they needed and because of that their family was in pieces.
Maybe the members of the family haven't reached the point of hating him to the bone, but the chances of them ever accepting him again were very low.
Over the past few days that the Cullens had returned, Esme had made many attempts at talking to both Alice and Jasper who had joined Damon's pack.
Through many failed attempts at bringing them back, Esme eventually just had to accept the fact her beautiful family was never coming back together.

Damon on the other hand was currently relaxing by the pool with his family, laughter could be heard everywhere and everyone was getting along.
Even Bella was was in the pool swimming with Joey.
As Damon looked on he couldn't help but smile, he liked to see the members of his family getting along and enjoying themselves.
He only hoped this could last forever.
