Kapitel 31: Chapter Thirty one

"Alora." Radolph's voice pulled her out of the admiration session she was having. She climbed down from the swing she stood on and looked at him with raised brows.

"Yes?" She replied.

"Where is the book?" His voice was cold and Alora would have sworn she heard a hint of disgust in it.

"Which book?"

"The ancient book about the werewolves that you were reading. I know you have that book with you so don't waste my time and tell me where the book is." He frowned as he grabbed her hands, dragging her into the room.

"I don't know what you are talking about. Yes, I was reading a book about werewolves but it wasn't an ancient book, it was a framed up story." Alora groaned as he dropped her roughly on the bed.

"Answer me Alora. I don't have time for games." Radolph hissed.

"I said I don't know what you're talking about." Alora yelled at him and a slap landed across her face.

"How dare you yell at me? Give me the book now or you will regret not giving it to me." Radolph barked at her while she held onto her cheeks which had turned red already due to the impact of his hands on her fragile skin.

"I don't know which book you were talking about." Alora said calmly, looking at him as if she was daring him to do his worst.

"You thought I didn't see the book with you? You thought I didn't feel the presence of the book in the palace back in Arran? You even brought it to the underground room where you came to heal me. If you don't know, now know that I was the werewolf that you saved." Radolph yelled at her but she just maintained her calm and daring look although she was shocked he was the one she helped.

"Well what a nice way to say thank you don't you think." Alora frowned as she folded her arms across her chest.

"You little…."

"Don't waste your time. The book is nothing that I know about and the book you were talking about is the same thing that I'm saying, it is a storybook not an ancient book or something." Alora buried herself on the bed and took a deep breath. "If you will excuse me, I have to treat my bruised skin."

Radolph was shocked she defied him. He clenched his fists but he let her be and barged out of the room.

Radolph walked back to his room, trying to calm his raging self. He walked into his garden and sat on the swing. He wasn't sure if something was wrong with him or it was just his mind. Alora looked exactly like his dead mate and had the same effect on him. He didn't know what pushed him to slap her but the way she acted as if nothing happened and even drove him away was the same thing his dead mate would have done. She can't possibly be her because Radolph knew she would never pretend to be what she's not or ignore him. .

Radolph laid on the swing, lost in thought that he didn't know when he fell asleep.

"Beauty please stay with me."

"Rad....olph....I'm sorry."

"Beauty. Please...noooo."

Radolph shot his eyes open from the terrible nightmare he was having. He always heard those voices in his head whenever he was sleeping and he knew pretty well that it was the night when his mate died.

That night haunted him till date and he could help but not want to fall asleep which was impossible.

Alora also fell asleep coincidentally at the same time as Radolph fell asleep. She met herself in a very dark place with no one but her there. For a minute she got scared but when a woman appeared before her, she screamed.

"No need to be afraid. I won't hurt you I promise." She gazed at Alora lovingly. "You are alive, I'm so glad that you are alive." She sighed.

"Was I dead?" Alora asked her with a raised brow.

"No, my child. You must look for the book and give it to Radolph. It is inside the palace and I'm going to show you where it is." The woman tried to hold her hand but she refused.

"Who are you?" Alora asked.

"I am..."

Alora jolted awake from sleep and her frustration could be seen as the woman didn't answer her question before she woke up.

Alora sat up and started to think about what she saw in her sleep. She didn't see what the woman looked like but she was sure she wore a white dress. The other parts of her body were blurred. Now Alora could just hope she sees her again.

Why should she give the book to Radolph? She was sure there's something special about it but she still doesn't understand why.
