Delilah blinked uncomprehendingly. She heard something but didn't know if it was correct. While James stared at Delilah, hopefully, she didn't understand what he said.
"Uhm, Mr. J, do you want cupcakes?" Delilah asked suddenly after a long stunned silence. James's brow furrowed more. Wait a minute, didn't he ask that? It has nothing to do with cake at all!
"I-I…"
"I also made warm milk for you. This!" Delilah instead offered James a glass of milk with a strange grin. James was stunned, glanced at the glass of white milk, then sighed. He still didn't take the glass while Delilah waited for him to drink the milk.
James took it and finally drank the milk. But after that, he glared at Delilah, who managed to avoid the most crucial question.
"I'll get the cupcakes! You wait in the dining room, Mr. J!" Delilah said, half pushing him away. With an annoyed expression, James turned around and left Delilah, who suddenly rubbed her chest.
