Kapitel 9: Chapter 9
"Hello, my old friend. What's going on?" Jack said.
Fisher Tiger said in surprise, "It's really you. But how? I looked you but…"
Just then, Jack interrupted him and said, "Before you speak, can you tell your friends to lay down their weapons? I don't feel very comfortable being targeted with weapons?"
Fisher Tiger noticed that his crew were aiming at Jack with guns in their hands, and he said to them, "Lower your guns, he's my friend."
They were hesitant at first, but following their captain's orders, they lowered their weapons.
Then Fisher Tiger said, "Come, let's talk to you in my room. I wonder what happened."
As Jack toward him, a light blue-skinned saw-nosed shark from among the crew said angrily, "Captain, he's human! He also took hostage one of us! It is not right for you to be alone with him!"
Fisher Tiger looked right at him and said, "Arlong, since when do I ask your permission for what I've done? As I said, he's my friend, and besides, no one from the crew was harmed, right?"
Arlong couldn't keep arguing with him and glared at Jack while gritting his teeth in anger. It was clear that he was hate with him.
Ignoring the person glaring at him, Jack walked up to Tiger Fisher and then entered the room.
"I looked for you there a lot, but I couldn't find you. When did you escape?" Fisher Tiger asked curiously.
"It hasn't been too long since I escaped from there. When you made great chaos, I found a gap and quickly escaped. Then I started traveling from island to island for a while. Not long ago, I was spotted by a sailor and luckily boarded your ship to go to the next island." Jack said.
"I am glad to meet you again with the help of luck. Because I wanted to thank you for helping me escape from you at the time." Fisher Tiger said gratefully and then timidly asked, "Jack… What happened after I ran away? I've heard a few words from the slaves I rescued while I was trying to look for you, but I want to hear more from you."
Jack involuntarily trembled a little when he heard it, because what he had experienced back then was still quite fresh.
Seeing his reaction, Fisher Tiger said directly, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
After Jack recovered himself, he said, "It's okay, I finally got out of that place. Sigh* I had to do something pretty big to get the time for you to escape. The penalty for this was also very high. Every day they finished their business with me, I was tortured in public. But what hurt me the most there was the funny look on those scumbags' faces. They were watching my screams with smiles on their faces."
But then Jack continued to speak with a sudden laugh, "Hahaha! But at that time, it occurred to me that I had killed one of them. My stamina increased when I thought of his fearful expression at that moment."
Fisher Tiger said in surprise, "You killed a Celestial Dragon? How come they didn't kill you?"
"I don't know, maybe they thought I'd suffer more by not killing me." Jack answered somewhat truthfully. He knew the real answer was that he was too precious to be killed for them. But he couldn't tell Fisher Tiger that, he didn't trust him that much yet.
"So what are you going to do next, keep running like this?" Fisher Tiger asked with something on his mind.
"So I was thinking of continuing to live like this. After all, there's not much else I can do." Jack said. But of course, he had a few plans for the future.
"Jack, how would you like to join my crew?" Fisher Tiger asked.
Fisher Tiger knew that Jack had no family and no place to go. That's why he decided to invite Jack to his crew.
After thinking for a while, Jack was surprised and said, "Are you sure about that? I don't think your crew will accept me. After all, some of them were looking at me with hatred."
Fisher Tiger had noticed this as well, but he still wanted Jack in his crew. After all, he felt indebted to him for saving his life. He knew that if Jack hadn't helped him, he would probably have died there.
"It's okay, I'll talk to them. They will listen to me, I am their captain." Fisher Tiger said.
"Well, if you say so then I'll accept it." Jack said. He was tired of running around for weeks, and now he wanted to stay in a stable place. But that was impossible because the ship was moving...
Later, Jack added, "But before I can fully reveal myself, I need to find some clothes and a good mask."
Fisher Tiger glanced at his shabby cloak and said with a grin, "Okay, I'll find you some suitable clothes. Then after you've dressed properly, I'll announce you joining the crew."
It was perfectly normal for Jack to want to wear new clothes. With his cloak on, he didn't look like a pirate at all. But he thought that if he exposed his face, he would be caught directly by the government or by the sailors.
Mary Geoise - a few days after Jack escaped*
In a large luxurious room, the Five Elders were gathered together with troubled expressions on their faces.
"Damn it! We still haven't found him!" Said the elder with a birthmark in the middle of his forehead.
"We have to be calm. He was certainly among the escaped slaves. By mobilizing all our strength, we will catch him." Said the elder with the cane.
"Should we tell Im-sama?" Said the tall elder.
When hearing this, everyone was even more stressed. How would they explain this situation to him?
