Kapitel 484: That Isn't Going To Be Possible

They bounced around a while longer and tried everything but the game where two people took padded bats and tried to knock each other off a balance beam into the foam. Everett refused to do that but Josie could understand why. He didn't want to hurt her. 

She ended up playing against a random kid about ten years old instead and got whacked right off the balance beam in less than a minute. He looked ready to jump in and she hastily said she was fine so he wouldn't do anything. That was the last thing she needed! That kid wasn't actually a threat; that was just how the game went. 

It worried him enough that he linked their arms together and steered her away to something else as soon as she was out of the foam pit. His bodyguard instincts were strong even in a world where it was much less needed.
