Kapitel 46: Good Job, Little One

Erevan kept a close eye on Molly as the pregnancy progressed. She became far more temperamental than usual but that was common according to the books he read. He did everything he was supposed to and then some to placate her, especially when her anxiety took over and she panicked about either not being a good mother or not knowing how to handle a child that could use magic.

She also talked about her own parents much more than before. It seemed that she wanted to do most things differently because of the way they hurt her.

"My mom wasn't all bad," she said wistfully. "She really loved me in the beginning. When I was little, she would sing me lullabies, read me stories, and play with me all the time. But once I got older and my dad started tearing into me about every tiny thing, she never defended me once.
