Kapitel 157: She changed

"Eve," Earl called her name. His brows furrowed as he was worried for her. 

She lifted her head to see him. Her eyes filled with tears which blurred her vision yet she knew who was here for her. Blinking several times to clear her vision she looked ahead at Earl. As soon as her eyes met his, she broke completely.

"What happened, Eve? He asked again. 

As far as he knew everything was alright and he himself was confident that Elric would say yes to her. What suddenly happened now which devastated her at this level? He had never seen her break like this. Even when the lord was assassinated she cried but not like this. 

She began mumbling. "He went." With all efforts, she could only say that. 

Earl was still confused but he remained quiet and let her cry out of her heart. He knew how it felt when the love, feelings you shared to someone ain't returned to you back.
