***ADDIE'S POV***

As I stared down at the man's arm, at the mark on his wrist, I felt anger rising inside me. The mark wasn't just a red outline. The more I looked at it, the more I took in the details of what was done to him, I saw that the spell had actually burned him.

It was almost as if he were branded with a hot iron, or something of that sort. The mark looked to be several years old, yet it still looked angry and hot. Without thinking, I reached out and touched the mark that was on the guy's arm.

"Ahh." He cried out, screaming in pain as he recoiled.

"I am sorry, Varel." I dropped to my knees, attempting to help him feel better. Although I didn't know what I could do. At least not yet.

"It is alright, Saint Addison. I know you did not try to hurt me. The spell can only be touched by Lord Talmidge. He is my master, so it is his power. It's how he controls me."
