Kapitel 137: The Truth About Addie

The next thing that I knew, someone had grabbed both of my hands. The feel of overly heated hands gripping my own was so unexpected that it made me open my eyes on a gasp.

"Huh?"

I was suddenly staring into the eyes of the king. He was standing right in front of me and looking at me with eyes that were so intense, so scary, that I didn't know what to do. This was the first moment that I had true, genuine fear and not just slight nerves since I got here.

This man was going to kill me. He was going to steal my mana and kill me. I just knew it. That had to be the only reason why he would be looking at me like this. What other reason did he have for the way that he was looking at me?

"Addison!?" He said my name so intensely that at first, I didn't know if it was a question or a declaration.

"Y..yes, King Callum?" I tried to shrink away from him but he was holding me so tightly that I couldn't move away from him at all.
