7.01% Moon's Curse of Love "A Werewolf Story" / Chapter 7: Ji Hoon... Why Caring About Her?

Kapitel 7: Ji Hoon... Why Caring About Her?

Ji Hoon kept recalling the events of his escape many times in his head. Yet he couldn't find out where he missed that lady.

He reached a small home in the suburbs. It wasn't as majestic as the mansion he just came from, but it was warm and enough for him.

"Beep… Beep… Beep…"

Just as he entered the house, and even before he could turn on the lights; his phone rang.

"Damn it, old man," he picked the phone while opening the fridge. He randomly selected one package and threw it inside the microwave. "How do you always know I'm home? Are you watching me right now?"

The old man laughed in his own way. "Tell me, was she pretty?"

"Beep!"

This time it was the alarm of the microwave. He took out his pasta and grabbed a fork before starting eating. "What are you talking about?"

"I just heard some rumors about a man trespassing the ladies room and tried to kidnap one girl from there," the old man laughed, "I never took you for the playboy type. What changed? Is she that beautiful?"

Ji Hoon kept eating his meal while trying to not get provoked by the old man's words. "Why are you always so focused on me? It's not like I'm your only boy out there."

"But you are my best," the old man said, "and when you have an ace, you have to protect him."

"Thanks," Ji Hoon kept eating, "I'm not that weak."

"Even the strongest have their moments… of weakness of course," the old man laughed, "c'mon, don't tell me you don't get her address."

The moment the old man said that, Ji Hoon paused momentarily from eating, letting his hand hang midair before reaching out for his mouth.

"That's something… I can't understand," Ji Hoon slowly said.

"Tell me and I'll help to explain," the old man tried to lure him to speak.

But Ji Hoon shook his head the next moment without a single moment of hesitation.

"I won't," Ji Hoon said.

"You won't… or you don't know?"

The words of the old man hit a string inside Ji Hoon' mind. He finished his meal fast before throwing the empty package in a nearby trash can.

"I've a picture for someone I need you to investigate for me," Ji Hoon threw his body over the couch before the screen appeared next and covered his face. "I've emailed the photos for you."

"Oh, you even gave her a photo session," the old man sarcastically said yet Ji Hoon turned the screen off, closed his eyes and seemed to start sleeping.

Yet in less than one minute he had to open his eyes when he heard a weak sigh coming from the old man.

"Old man, are you alright?" he couldn't help but ask while sitting straight on his couch. He rubbed his hair and waited for an answer.

"Was that the girl you met there?" the old man asked in a calm tone.

Yet Ji Hoon felt something was odd here.

"Do you… recognize her?" Ji Hoon couldn't think of any possibility but this. His old man knew that lady and recognized her from just one look.

"Oh, I just read the newspapers regularly," the old man sarcastically said, "not like some old folks."

"Hey, I'm even younger than your son if you ever have one!"

"As if you know my face, not to mention my age," the old man laughed, "anyway, this lady is married to someone powerful… very powerful."

"Oh," Ji Hoon nodded in realization, "so that explains everything."

He paused for a second before asking, "do you have an address for her husband?"

"Husband or wife?" the old man laughed, "forget it. They both are way out of your league."

The old man paused for a brief second before hurriedly asking, "however I'm curious though, why take all the trouble and save someone you don't even know? What was it? Huh? She is a piece of art but not to make you fall for a single glance."

"Shut up!"

Ji Hoon felt unease when the old man asked this. He returned to his couch and closed his eyes once more.

"Oh, I see… It must be related to that guardian angel roleplay you love to do."

"Shut up old man!" Ji Hoon stood up this time while his body trembled faintly. "You know how much I hate that word!"

"The guardian perhaps? Or…"

"Don't say it," Ji Hoon didn't even wait as he held his phone and ended the call. He stood in the hall of his home while his chest kept rising and falling fast.

He hated the word angel so much.

And he had a proper reason for it.

As he tried to calm himself, his eyes got attracted to a small photo placed on a shelf on the wall.

It was an old photo of his mother hugging him from the back. He was so little by that time, not exceeding five years old.

However, for unknown reasons his mother's face was paled out by time. He couldn't see anything even if he used the latest technology in enhancing photos.

And the weirdest thing was that her image was also peeled off his memory as well.

He couldn't even recall anything related to her face.

Yet it was only a photo of two, with no father standing beside them.

Whenever he asked his mother about his father's whereabouts, he only got one answer from her.

"Tsk, I couldn't even recall your face and the only thing I can remember is these silly words of yours," he returned to his couch while trying to sleep once more.

However the words of his mother kept ringing like bells inside his mind.

"He… isn't from this world, my dear baby boy. He came here from somewhere far… He was an angel, an angel ready to even fall to the depths of hell to seek for someone. He… had to leave and you have to forget anything about him."

The sweet voice of his mother echoed in his ears over and over again. "An angel my ass!" he cursed while trying to clear up his mind to sleep.

However when he was done with his old pain, the face of that lady popped up in his mind and stuck there for so long.

Just seeing her face made him feel something moving inside his chest. He couldn't help but touch the left side of his chest and squeeze it.

As if he would be able to crush that annoying feeling and drive it away.

And after a long time of struggle he finally managed to fall asleep.
