Kapitel 80: Scarlet- The Dock

Angel touched the entwined trees. They glowed and moved, allowing an opening. Angel was the first to pass through. The rest of us followed her through. Sabastian held onto Little Alzar as if his life depended on it. The child was not happy, but he never complained. I did not know what was going on between the two. I doubt it had anything to do with protecting Little Alzar anymore. If it did, he would not be holding onto him. He already warned the child. What more was there to it?

The other side of the tree was not what we expected. Woodland phlox, perennial blue phlox, and wild geranium decorated the ground. The flowers spread out to the river band. A single path led up to a small wooden dock. At the end of the dock sat a small house on the river. The crystal blue water shimmered from our distance. For a river inhabited by sirens and rusalkas, I thought the water would be darker, mustier.
