Kapitel 27: Cloud Mist Orphanage 2

The revelation of Yang Lin's cultivation and age shocked the other three, albeit faintly. They wondered, how could he achieve such a level without spiritual herbs? Nonetheless, now that he had arrived at Qi Circulation, he can start connecting the meridians and establish a dantian, a container for Spiritual Qi.

Given his looks, he didn't seem like the type to hesitate when it comes to murder. Even now, surrounded by four individuals with unfathomable presence, instead of feeling like an ant to be squashed dead at any moment, his eyes looked as clear as a baby's gaze.

Fearless, clueless, and innocent. This was what confused the three the most, were they not so intimidating? If only they knew, Yang Lin simply brushed their unfathomable presence aside as an 'okay' wave of pressure. After spending those long, seemingly endless days with that demonic woman, how could these guys compare to the terror he felt back then?

Obediently, he allowed the muscular man to lead him by the wrist.

Seems like getting inside would be simpler than I thought, said Yang Lin to himself as his pristine optics scanned the perimeter. As he phased through the front gate to the orphanage, he felt an omnipresent cloak of energy engulf his body. A tangible resonance of Qi, he was familiar with it because he had the same energy coursing his veins, albeit the energy all around felt lacking and warmer in comparison.

"What you're feeling right now is a complex array," The man said, deliberately concealing some details within an ambiguous explanation. Then, he unintentionally cast a side glance at the kid following behind him, as complacent as one could get, not even putting his guard up.

This confused the guard even more. He snorted coldly and averted his gaze, this kid must be too frightened to run his brain, that must be it, no other explanation. The guard wanted to shock Yang Lin with a sudden dose of rampant Qi, but he remembered Yang Lin's weird physique, so he abstained from such.

Unbeknownst to the guard, the more energy pressed down on Yang Lin's physique, his pores parted so subtly, allowing the energy from the array to seep into Yang Lin's body. Under the influence of silver matter by each flicker in Yang Lin's eyes, he could feel that the energy was being unlawfully used as a supplement to connect his meridians. However, the progress was slow, it should take a couple of days at this rate, Yang Lin estimated after careful observations.

Once inside the ground-level orphanage, Yang Lin glanced at the clean halls, soft decorations, and a few hung-up portraits of men and women of all ages. Some were young, some were middle-aged, and some were old. One thing they had in common was their lifeless eyes, eyes that seemed dead and alive altogether.

Although there were many kids of Yang Lin's age and older going about through the orphanage, none of them spared him a glance, not even the caretakers made any subtle reactions to a man dragging a kid, seemingly forcefully through the halls.

"Acting all tough," The man muttered, he really despised how unresponsive was the kid to any of these. But, it didn't matter, the kid had potential and that's all that mattered. At the end of their road, the man stood in front of an elevator, this was Yang Lin's first time seeing something like this.

"What's that?" He curiously asked, causing the man to stagnate, face dark. Of all things, the kid was only curious about an elevator? He didn't even comment in regards to the array formations.

"This is called an elevator, we use it to shift between floors in multiple stories buildings. Of course, these are mechanisms the natives of this world use out of habit." The guard said, deliberately hanging a bait by mentioning 'natives of this world', he seemed like a talkative guy under the mask of official duty, Yang Lin thought.

Nonetheless, he merely said, "Okay."

Suddenly, he felt the man's grip tighten over his wrist, by he didn't complain, the old man must be pissed. It was only when a faint crackling sound of bones rang out, did the elevator screen glow green and resound a 'Ding!'

This sound jolted the man back to his senses, he clearly had a bad temper. He let go of Yang Lin's wrist, which seemed bruised and purple, his wrist was broken. The man coughed awkwardly, he was actually shocked that the kid didn't even flench, but was instead looking into the elevator.

Yang Lin, ignoring his broken wrist, spoke softly as he eyed the figure inside the elevator.

"Grandma Mo?" Yang Lin was pleasantly surprised, seems like they were still here.

Grandma Mo was also shocked, she said, "Child, what are you doing? ..." As she spoke, she noticed his broken wrist and the guard who was shocked the most between the three. This kid knew the grandma? The guard gulped, then it dawned upon him what he did, and he did not dare turn, he could feel a cold pair of eyes starring daggers at his neck.

"I want to see Ming'er." Yang Lin said, ignoring the tense atmosphere. Looking at the guard, his wrist, and then at grandma Mo, he seemed to figure something out and said, "This was already broken by the time I arrived here."
