Zusammenfassung
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places
Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie.
After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race.
A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts.
The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors.
The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed.
The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own.
This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes

Schreiben Sie eine RezensionThe story is amazing. It's got detailed worldbuilding that makes it feel lived in.The author might be one of the few good writers on Webnovel with his ability to keep you reading with a good mystery. However, for all my praise, I do have a major problem with the MC.To put it simply, the mc is one of the worst things in this story. He is so boring and bland, he is just another heroic Shonen Protagonist with no interesting or funny quirks that makes him feel human his only major character trait is being madly in love and that sucks because the romance between the mc and his love interest is very lack luster I mean I can see that they care for each other but their interactions lack chemistry
Spoiler enthüllenStory is good, makes you want to know what comes next or why did that happen. but the writing is like poetry, its descriptive which good but it’s a little much when almost every sentence is like that though. so good story but chill on the poetry. last thing mc is all over the place.
I freaking love your story! Steel waste is good all but it does not have the depth and story like yours, SW is more like a faced pace Ok character wuixa thing 9ts always escalating, but yours...... It's a diamond on the rough! I am a huge fallout fan and there sent many good or complete fallout fanfic on here. I've read most 9f the good ones on archive 0f our 9wn and fanfiction . net. I'm not exactly sure when this tales place though... it this based in the games 9r an all 9ut original fallout world? Anyways I await each chapter with an eager smile, so keep it up! Just know I'm one of your readers![img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update]
One of the best Fallout fanfictions I've read in a long while. The characters, the suspense. When the first volume ended. I audibly gasped and was giddy to get to the next one. Love it.
This is the best Fallout novel on this site. And also one of the best novels period. The author is well articulated, present an interesting story that keeps me coming back for more and more. Keep it up!
We should all pray to Godd Howard to make this a movie that’s how good this story is. Or even better a 20+ hour series. It’s not written like most of the stuff on Webnovel, like iseakis or harems, but like an actual novel. It’s also formatted in a way so you don’t need to know a lot of Fallout lore to enjoy it. I’d wager that if you were completely new to the world of Fallout you’d enjoy this. As with the games and stories be prepared for some angst, blood and gore and dark stuff if completely new. I could rattle on but until next time: “From the Tower with power” dear readers and author. From the Tower with power :)
This story is absolutely one if the best fallout fanfiction i have read. The story is original and compelling while keeping to the lore of fallout. the characters are all fleshed out and have real motivation and have depth. The writing is also very good and great grammar which is a definite plus. I know i will be looking forward to every knew chapter as i quickly fell in love with this story. To sum it up the author has done an amazing job and I can’t wait to see where your story goes!!!
If you're expecting people to eat Deathclaw omelette for breakfast or challenge themselves by racing one across the desert, don't hold your breath, because there are barely any predatory animals around. I have it on good authority that there won't be any fusion-powered cars to race Deathclaws either, because apparently they are unfixable as of this moment, so use your connections to escape your isolationist vault and pray to god you can get your hands on a cheat item that keeps you alive until you find power armor, because raiders can smell fear in a five-mile radius. The only thing to keep you company while you're trying to end your misery in a rockslide or under a collapsing building are grand views and mutated wildlife. Oh, and hungry super mutants. If you do get into a fight that you barely win, you're out of luck, because healing takes a long time and wound infection gets them all in the end. Nowhere is safe, you have no backup until you con someone into dying for you and wasting resources is a death sentence. The only thing that can keep you competitive is hard work. Overall, a 5/7 story, mostly bc it is a bit watery at times.

I've only played Fallout shelter, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 3 and watched Fallout 4 gameplay, and I have to say that your story is quite good even if set in an original setting. Pace is not that fast compared to Steel Waste, and better in my opinion because it focused more on world building and character development. Looking forward for the new chapters. Good job, sir!
