Kapitel 21: Part 21

The day of the vote finally arrived, bringing together all the shareholders, board members, and administrators of Andersons Group. The air in the conference hall was tense as everyone gathered to choose between the three highest shareholders: Canary, Joel, and Lucy.

Each candidate took their seat at the front, their expressions unreadable. The lawyer, overseeing the process, stood up and addressed the room.

"Today, we will decide the next president of Andersons Group," he began solemnly. "Each vote matters, and we urge you to choose wisely for the future of this company."

The voting process began, with ballots distributed and marked in silence.

The room was thick with anticipation as one by one, the votes were cast and collected.

As the results were announced, the room was filled with a mixture of tension and anticipation.

The lawyer stood and read the outcomes: "In third place, with the least number of votes, is Lucy Rivers."

There was some tension as the only two that remained were Canary and Joel.

A murmur passed through the crowd, and Lucy gave a soft, graceful nod.

She leaned back in her chair, her face betraying a hint of relief that the decision was now over for her.

In the second place, by a narrow margin, is Joel Rivers. And leading with three more votes… Canary Andersons."

Polite applause broke out, but the atmosphere remained heavy, with Joel's expression darkening as he processed the loss.

Lucy smiled faintly, turning to congratulate Canary, while Canary maintained his composure, aware of the challenges ahead.

After Canary stood up, his expression serious yet composed as the room's attention shifted toward him.

The lawyer handed him the envelope, and he paused, taking a moment to glance around the room, meeting the eyes of his colleagues, board members, and shareholders.

"Thank you," he began, his voice steady but carrying weight. "I am honored to take on the role of President of Andersons Group. I know this company is more than just a business—it's a legacy, built by my father and supported by all of you here. Together, we've faced challenges, and together, we will face more. But I believe in the strength of this team, in the resilience and passion that drives us forward."

He glanced toward Joel and Lucy, acknowledging the competition.

"I respect the hard work of those who came before me, and I am committed to leading with integrity and fairness, ensuring that Andersons remains a force in the industry."

Canary's gaze swept over the room, his voice growing firmer.

"This company belongs to all of us, and I will make sure that every shareholder, every employee, and every partner has a voice in what comes next. I ask for your trust, for your support, and for your unwavering dedication to the future of Andersons Group."

He paused again, looking at the room with a sense of quiet determination. "Let's build something greater together. Thank you."

The room was silent for a moment before polite applause broke out, and Canary returned to his seat, the weight of the role settling on his shoulders as he prepared for the road ahead.

By the end of the conference, the news spread quickly—Canary Andersons was now the President of Andersons Group.

Headlines filled with the announcement, and the city buzzed with the change.

Some praised his rise to power, while others questioned what the future would hold for the company.

As Canary left the room, he felt the weight of his new role, knowing challenges lay ahead, but determined to face them one step at a time.

Lisa was overjoyed when she received the news from her office.

A bright smile spread across her face as she heard that Canary had become the new President of Andersons Group.

She felt proud and relieved, knowing how much this meant to him.

It was a moment of triumph for Canary, and Lisa couldn't help but share in his happiness, eager to support him through the challenges ahead.

As Canary went to his office Lucy followed behind him.

Lucy embraced Canary tightly, a proud smile on her face.

"I knew you could do it," she said warmly.

"You've worked so hard, and this is just the beginning. Keep pushing forward, and remember I'm always here for you."

Her words of encouragement filled Canary with reassurance, and for a moment, he allowed himself to savor the support of his mother.

He recieved more board members and holders from his office who congratulated him.

Camilla, Micheal and all the others also got the news but stayed neutral.

Joel met with Regina, Williams, and Smith, his frustration evident.

"I can't believe we lost," he spat, pacing around the room. "All those plans, all that effort, for nothing."

Regina, unfazed, merely watched him, while Williams and Smith exchanged uneasy glances.

"We'll figure out another way," Regina said, her voice calm.

"This isn't over yet." Joel clenched his fists, already plotting his next move.

That evening, when Lisa met Canary, she couldn't contain her joy.

She rushed to him, giving him a warm, heartfelt hug.

"Congratulations," she whispered, pulling back to smile at him. "You did it. I'm so proud of you."

Canary smiled back, grateful for her support, the weight of the day lifting slightly in her presence.

As they continued talking, Canary's phone buzzed.

He glanced at the screen and saw it was Lucy. He answered, his tone light. "Hey, Mom."

"Canary, come home early tonight for dinner. We need to celebrate together " Lucy's voice was warm but firm.

"Alright, I'll be there soon," he replied, looking at Lisa with a small smile. "I have to head home, but we'll talk more later."

He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before heading out, his thoughts already on what awaited him at home.
