After the palpation, Xie Wanying took out her stethoscope to auscultate the patient.
Almost forty minutes had passed when a nurse looked up at the clock on the wall and did the calculation.
In their memory, they had never seen such a lengthy examination; everyone was a bit stupefied, unclear about what was happening. The problem was that even with such a detailed examination, their colleague lying on the exam bed was just the same, unable to specify the exact spot that hurt when pressed by the doctor. It always was a vague pain everywhere in the abdomen.
Finally, Xie Wanying finished the examination and said to the patient, "Let's order some tests."
"What tests do I need?" the patient asked, sitting up from the examination bed.
"An ultrasound, and if possible, a CT scan can be added," Xie Wanying replied. "I'll write you a test order and get a teacher to sign off on it."
