“Wow!” Gage exclaimed. “This is some heavy stuff, man.”
“Yeah. Sorry about that. I understand that this is too much for both of you. It’s all right if you want to—”
“No,” Flynn interrupted while giving Calian an intense stare. “I really like you. You and Gage both. I’m not giving up on either of you.”
“Flynn, don’t be stubborn.”
Calian attempted to persuade Flynn, but the man had a determined expression on his face. Calian was stunned. He knew there were people like Flynn in this world, but it was the first time he was the focus of such a powerful devotion.
“We still have some time left, haven’t we?”
Calian nodded at Flynn. “But I’m not sure how much there is. It can be as short as a minute or as long as ten or even a hundred years.”
“It doesn’t matter. Let’s use the remaining time and work on our relationship.”
Calian was honestly touched upon hearing Flynn’s words. “Okay.”
“I’m in,” Gage added before glancing at Calian. “Have you any idea what your test will be?”
