“Judging by your expression, we most probably have the same culprit in mind.”

“But—”

“I’m not accusing anyone of anything,” Kenta defended himself calmly. “However, my conjecture makes sense, doesn’t it?”

“Yes,” Milo replied. “Because there aren’t many magic users in existence who have that much power.”

“Mariana is one of them, isn’t she?”

Milo was too flabbergasted to respond for the next several seconds. He didn’t want to believe that Mariana could do something like that because he couldn’t come up with a valid reason for her to do so. Even if she had a reason, she would still be going against one of the most sacred codes that all magic users must adhere to, and that was to protect the ordinary mortals from harm. If she had committed the crime, then she would have to be stopped and punished. For a moment, Milo simply gaped at Kenta wordlessly, but he eventually managed to regain his composure.

“Yes, she is.”
