“I don’t understand.”

Riordan smirked at Darby. “You will get it someday soon.”

Dillon chortled even louder. “Oh, I bet he will.”

Riordan rolled his eyes at Dillon before beaming at Darby. “Ignore Dillon. He’s a thirty-year-old baby. Very immature.”

“You’re one to talk,” Dillon retorted.

Riordan chuckled before leaning close to Dillon and pressing a kiss on his boyfriend’s forehead. “Love you, babe.”

Dillon blushed, but he was obviously pleased. “Love you, too.”

Darby sighed. “I’m feeling left out.”

Riordan grabbed Darby’s hand and squeezed it gently. “Sorry.”

Darby smiled. “It’s all right.”

Riordan nodded. “Let’s talk about something else.”

“Like what?” Dillon asked.

“The three recent murder cases,” Riordan answered.

“Oh! The victims who were drained dry of their blood,” Darby added. “The local police force in town is baffled by those cases so the FBI has taken them over.”

“How do you know about that?”
