But admitting his feelings about Wade was a whole different matter. The cat was out of the proverbial bag, though, and Casey had seemed fine with it.
Lance hadn’t been able to stop smiling while they all sat at the family table for breakfast, but he noticed Wade wore a smile, too, and that just made him happier. Throughout breakfast, he’d been surprised when Wade had put his hand on Lance’s thigh and squeezed gently, then left it there for a few minutes.
A warm feeling spread through him as Wade touched him and he wished he didn’t have to run to the office. But Ash was back and they needed to discuss a few cases.
Wade walked out with him when he was ready to leave.
“We’re getting the Christmas tree today,” he said. “Since we’re not going to the trip until next weekend, Casey said he’d take Jake and Landon and let them pick it out. They’ve got to drive a few towns over, though.”
“Another reason we need to get your dream started,” Lance pointed out.
