“All right. I’ll have a chat with Tristan. No promises, though.”
Isaac chuckled. “We don’t expect you both to get married right away. Let’s deal with the peerage first. They’ve been hounding your ass for a while now. It’s time to shut them down. I can’t wait to see their faces.”
He rolled his eyes, but he agreed with Isaac. “They aren’t horrible people.”
His father snorted. “Nope. They’re just greedy elitists who are all vying for the throne.”
His mother nodded. “Your father and I tried to get them to change some of the policies, but we failed. Ihope you have something strong enough to force them all to obey you.”
He smirked at his mother. “The history of the monarchy is fraught with lots of blackmail and other underhanded tactics. Isaac and I have been working together for a while now to collect all the proof we can get our hands on. I believe I’ll be able to persuade them once and for all.”
His mother beamed at him. “You’re going to make a fine king someday.”
