Kapitel 66: Chapter 66

I found a spot to park my car, entered the building, and climbed the stairs. The door opened before I had the opportunity to knock.

“Mr Trevalyan.” Tanner stood in the doorway, not looking at all as I remembered from our dinner five years earlier.

Well, of course he wouldn’t, I chided myself; he’d had to have work done. However, hearingthat his face was to be changed and seeingit changed were two different things.

There was still a puffy, bruised quality to his cheeks and jaw, but beneath that was the strength that had always been belied by his androgynous, pretty-boy looks.

His eyes…”Tanner, what in bloody hell have you done to your eyes?” They were no longer Jeremy-brown. Now, forest green eyes gazed back at me.

“Contact lenses. Burdon had a tendency to stare into my eyes, so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to alter the colour. And I’ve used contacts before, so putting them in wasn’t a problem. And I…uh…always wanted to have green eyes.” He flushed.
