A few hours later, Aldrin and Irina with their rather tattered Metadome started making their way back after resting for a while at the same spot where they defeated the almost assimilated Carlos.

With the minimap and an optimal retreat path simulated through the Metadome's interface, they would need a day and a half to return to the newbie training camp. A few hours more than that if they would go back straight to the Plainsteed Base Camp.

And that's because they had to avoid the marching horde that continued to march towards the opened rift to their dimensional plane.

Furthermore, with his clones – the ones who still had intact Metadomes – sprinting ahead of them to pick off some stray dimensional creatures that would block their path, that estimated time was already being generous.

In any case, Aldrin found out that despite acquiring the Fragment Core and with the new unlocked feature of the IDLE Database, he had no power to stop their march.
