(I've chosen a suggestion for who Chikyu will intern with. I have chosen Mr0Rabbit's suggestion. He suggested a hero related to protecting the ocean, since all life started from the ocean. Obviously, the hero will be an oc, but I'll try my best. I'll put the image of the hero here, if you like it and want me to use it, just say so.)
(Also, as of writing this, the second variation of Zhongli's outfit got the most votes, so that's the one I'll be using.)
-3rd POV-
At the lodge of the Wild Wild Pussycats, a tall boy was training. This was Chikyu Tsuchikawa. However, if one were to look at him in his current state and compare it to his usual state, they would instantly see some worrying differences.
The first difference: His hair, which was normally extremely well kempt, was messy. Parts of his hair were frizzy and knotted, and if you were to run your fingers through them, instead of feeling the smooth feeling that it normally had, you would feel that it was abnormally dry.
The most worrying thing that could be seen were the sight of the tips of his hair were white, when they were darkish brown just a few hours ago. These were different to the dyed tips at the front of his hair, though.
Some would be able to recognize this as Marie Antoinette Syndrome. Marie Antoinette syndrome refers to a situation where someone's hair suddenly turns white due to high levels of stress.
He also constantly went into long periods of time where he would blankly stare at nothing, seemingly lost in thought. Thoughts swam in his head, lots of them dark and malignant, thoughts that would terrify even the most vile villain. Even more so if they knew that he was considering acting upon them.
One such example included an earthquake just so happening to meet up with a community of hunters and people with professions involving the destruction of an environment. Another one involved a tsunami being caused by an earthquake, the aftermath of both scenarios being obvious to anyone who knows what tsunamis and earthquakes do.
It wouldn't take a genius to realise that these were far from the thoughts of a hero. They were the thoughts of a child who wants nothing more than to keep one of his parents alive, by any means possible. Even if those means were villainous.
Chikyu trained some basic fighting moves for hours on end, only stopping when the rays of the rising sun shone on him and reminded him that his second day at UA Highschool would begin soon. He hurriedly ran to the lodge and got to his daily preparations. Brushing his hair, putting on his school uniform, etcetera. However, he covered up the parts of his hair that whitened from stress with red wraps. It was a basic solution, but it would work.
Failing to account for the fact that the amount of stress he was going through would eventually whiten more than just the tips.
(You can see the red wraps in this image.)
As he finished up his daily preparations, he began running to U.A as fast as he could. It would take 50 minutes to get there by car, but he insisted on running in order to get some physical exercise in at the same time. However, he still got there extremely quick, even without using his Quirk, arriving in just 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Like the day before, students were interacting with each other. Yesterday, they were getting to know each other slightly, but now they were starting to make friends with each other, with the exception of Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugou. In all their minds though, they wondered where the very tall boy from yesterday was. But their wonders were answered, as said boy opened the door and came in, all the students looking at his arrival.
They could tell that he had rushed to get here. While he wasn't gasping for air, he was breathing quite heavily, leaning against the side of the door for better support.
A boy with spiky red hair and sharp teeth was the first to say something.
"Why're you panting so hard? Were you running here?", he asked.
"No, I just randomly start heavily panting like a fucking exhausted dog. Yes, I ran here, you dental fuck-up.", Chikyu responded, a clear as day annoyance in his voice.
Uraraka leaned over into Midoriya's ear, whispering.
"He's kind of like of Bakugou, huh?", she commented.
"Yeah. He just doesn't yell all the time. Like a Bakugou who traded loudness for much more scathing insults.", he responded in agreement.
The large boy went to his seat, which was the third seat in the second row.
(Oh, by the way, he replaces Mineta, again. I don't hate Mineta at all, I think he's hilarious, but I think his exclusion changes the narrative the least out of all of Class 1-A.)
-Chikyu POV-
The school day went fairly normal for the most part, with us doing regular school subjects for a good section of the day, such as English, History and... Math.
That's just fucking great. Splendid, really.
However, when we got to our Hero Basic Training class, we got something much more unique. The class was taught by All Might, the walking Colgate ad.
Battle Trials.
In less fancy terms, beat the shit out of each other to win.
Finally. I've been waiting to do this for a while now to see if my classmates are actually worth a shit in a fight, because they all seem weak as shit.
Before we got to that, though, All Might told us that our hero outfits had arrived, and a couple slots in the walls opened up with numbers on them, containing our hero outfits. In my case, it also contained a few things that I specifically requested for in addition.
-3rd POV, at Ground Beta-
As All Might stood, waiting for his students, he was deep in thought.
"That Chikyu boy could very well be young Midoriya's biggest hurdle. A quirk like his has so much versatility and potential that it could be considered god-like.
Quirks related to earth aren't rare. Pixie Bob, Snatch and Cementoss have such Quirks, and I've encountered a few villains with such quirks as well. But their quirks are specific. Pixie Bob can control dirt and soil, Cementoss can control cement, and Snatch can control sand. The villains I've encountered with earth quirks had similar restrictions. One of them could control silt, another could control steel, and one of the others could control clay.
But young Chikyu's quirk has no such restrictions. The last time I talked to Pixie Bob was a few months after young Chikyu gained his quirk, and even then, he could control multiple things to a small degree. Sand, clay, cement, rocks, metal, fibres. All of these could be controlled to a small degree by him even after just a few months of gaining his ability.
It's been 10 years since then. I can't even begin to imagine what he can do now after 10 years. Young Midoriya will have to do his best to get the hang of One For All as soon as possible to even begin to catch up to such potential."
Before he could think on ways to assist his protégé, he saw the students, now in their hero outfits, approaching.
There was incredibly variety in each of their outfits. Yuga Aoyama and Tenya Iida's outfits both resembled medieval armours, and were the only ones that held similarity to another outfit. Toru Hagakure, as she was invisible, merely decided to don gloves and shoes. Some students had outfits that were more for fashion than anything to assist their quirk, like the outfits of Denki Kaminari and Kyoka Jiro. Funnily enough, both of the previously mentioned students had a punk style to their outfits.
His successor's outfit, in nice terms, could be better. Not only in terms of design, but also because it lacked a lot of subtlety when it came to where, or who, he got his quirk from. The only saving grace is that if asked, it could be excused that he was just a huge fan of All Might and based his outfit on him.
On the other hand, his potential hurdle was in a vastly different outfit. It was hard to describe, but it had a hood, and gave off a mystical monk/martial artist feel.
(Here)
(Canon All Might speech introducing what they'll be doing for the Battle Trial, after the second fight)
"Team E as the hero team, Momo Yaoyorozu and Chikyu Tsuchikawa, versus Team J, Ejiro Kirishima and Hanta Sero as the villain team!", All Might announced.
The aforementioned made their way to the test building as they were all called. Momo decided to try and introduce herself to the tall boy.
"Um, hello. My name is Momo Yaoyorozu. What's your name?", she asked, trying to at least start conversation.
"Chikyu Tsuchikawa.", he dryly responded, not saying anything more.
"Okay, maybe I should ask something more open.", Momo thought to herself, noticing his dry response.
"Okay... what's your quirk? Mine is Creation. I can make anything from the lipids in my body as long as I know it's molecular structure.", she asked, hoping this would bring a little bit more talk from him.
"Geokinetica. It lets me control anything related to earth.", he responded, deliberately giving her a very vague description. He saw no point in spilling the details about his quirk the way she did with hers. Besides, they would find out soon.
Clearly catching that he wasn't interested in idle talk, she stopped trying to start conversation.
As they entered the test building, they awaited the signal to start. But as they waited, they made plans. At least, the Villain team did. The Hero team however...
"What do you mean you don't need me?! This is supposed to be a team exercise! We're supposed to work together in this to win!", Momo yelled.
"Feel free to come along if you want. You can make it look pretty for all those watching. I'm not helping you if you get captured though.". Chikyu responded, his tone showing that he clearly couldn't care less whether Momo went with him or not.
Before Momo could continue the argument, All Might signalled them to start. As soon as they got said signal, Chikyu sped off, looking for the bomb.
-Chikyu POV-
As I ran around the building searching for the fake bomb, I eventually started seeing tape covering several areas of the halls.
This most likely wasn't from the red haired one, Kirishima. The black haired one, Sero, is most likely the one who did this, since his arms had an opening like a tape dispenser.
It looks like cellophane tape. Cellophane is made from regenerative cellulose, which is a fibre, and fibres fall under the category of things I can control, so if I wanted to, I could manipulate his own tape against him.
I chose to simply jump over, around and slide under the tape in my way for now.
As I did so, I moved towards what was obviously them by sensing their weight on the earth. One was relatively heavy, and the other was lighter. The heavy one was most likely Kirishima and Sero was most likely the light one, just by judging what I saw of their general build.
After running to their presence for around 40 seconds, I got to them. They were guarding the bomb, Kirishima at the front, Sero behind him, likely ready to try and restrict me with his tape.
I could faintly hear behind me that Momo was about to arrive too. Probably 30 or 40 seconds away.
Let's start off easy on them. See if they can at least keep up with me in melee, no quirk. After all, I want to know if they can keep up with me at least a little bit, not if I can beat them.
Because I know for a fact that I can, easily.
-3rd POV-
Chikyu got into a signature "brawler" fighting stance and beckoned the two "villains" to come and fight him.
Kirishima decided to be the one to accept his offer, and charged at him, quirk activated. He didn't cover his entire body, but he did cover his arms and hands, obviously intending to accept Chikyu's challenge of melee.
As he neared the large boy, he went for a punch with his right hand, aiming for his chest, only for Chikyu to evade his attack by shifting his torso. Shortly after his attack was evaded, he got punched directly in the chest, knocking the air out of him for a few seconds. Before he got to catch his breath, he was hit again. This time, he was punched on the left side of his chest by Chikyu, who had gotten to his side in the time that it took Kirishima to try and regain his breath.
Before he could get hit again, he was pulled back by Sero, bringing him near his companion.
"This guy's pretty good. It doesn't look like he's even used his quirk once! We've gotta try and take him down together if we wanna win!", Sero whispered to his companion.
"Yeah. I'll occupy him up close, you get him from range. Sound good?", Kirishima whispered back.
"Yeah. Go!", his teammate responded in the same hushed voice.
Kirishima once again ran to Chikyu, but this time, Sero made and swung tape at him at the same time, attempting to overload him, an attempt that failed as the large boy simply avoided it by sidestepping whenever it started to get close to him.
As Kirishima got back into melee range with him, he went for a rapid barrage of punches instead of one very powerful punch, hoping that the speed of the strikes combined with having to pay attention to Sero's tape would get him to slip up.
It didn't work. The tall boy's reflexes seemed to be super-refined, and he didn't even have to take his eyes off of Kirishima to avoid the tape being shot at him and dodge the blows at the same time. In fact, he was counterattacking. Every dodged punch would also result in a quick jab at the red haired boy's chest, each continuous strike making the area hurt more and more.
Kirishima attempted to stop him from continuing to do this by hardening his chest area. It simply made Chikyu start attacking a different area: his legs. For every dodged blow, Chikyu would kick the back of Kirishima's legs, the pain stacking up more and more. Again, Kirishima quickly hardened his legs too.
Not even realising that during this battle, he had been covering more areas at the same time than he could before. This battle, short as it was, was already helping him improve. There was something that Kirishima realised only after the battle was done.
Chikyu was purposefully helping him improve.
At this point, 40 seconds had passed, and Momo had arrived. She saw the Villain team fighting Chikyu. When she was running after him, she expected to find him captured because he got cocky and tried to fight a 2v1, but she was quite surprised when she saw him not only uncaptured, but completely unbothered while battling.
It didn't look like a fight between two opposing teams, it looked like a coach sparring with the two students who kept skipping out on fighting classes.
He clearly wasn't using his full strength, since he was being very nonchalant while fighting. He wasn't thinking about strategy, since he had a face that showed that he was paying just enough attention for it to be considered that he gave a shit about the fight.
Deciding that she would at least try and participate in the battle that they would most likely win anyway, she sprinted to Sero, who just now noticed her, as he was focused on Chikyu. He shifted his attention from assisting Kirishima to fighting Momo.
Kirishima, briefly distracted by the fact that the tape stopped coming, was caught off guard by Chikyu slammed his hands into his temples, completely knocking him out. Chikyu wrapped him in the capture tape, and looked to the battle between Sero and Momo.
Neither of them were getting anywhere, really. Momo kept trying to get close to him or trying to make things that would get him from range. Every time she tried the first thing, he would swing out of her range using the tape. Every time she tried the second thing, he would interrupt her while she was trying to make something.
Chikyu knew that he could help her and take down Sero, but he wanted one of his fellow classmates to win or lose without his intervention. So, he simply watched. However, not much changed during their fight. The same two things previously mentioned kept happening and nothing else, so Chikyu simply decided to end it by touching the fake bomb.
"The Hero team wins! Great work, everybody!", the voice of All Might yelled out over the speakers.
Sero was the one who had to carry Kirishima's unconscious body to the school nurse, Recovery Girl. Chikyu and Momo went to the room where the rest of the students and All Might observed their battle.
"The MVP of this match is young Tsuchikawa! While he did lose a lot of points for choosing to go solo and abandoning his partner, he made up for it with stellar combat and the smart choice to simply end the whole fight when he had the opportunity, instead of going after the second villain and risking potential damage! Well done, young Tsuchikawa!", All Might commented.
(Skipping the rest of the canon fights, end of the school day.)
This was the first real, proper day of UA, huh? It seems like there will be no lack of interesting things.
(If you guys wonder why chapters take so long to come out, there's a very, very simple reason: ADHD combined with Asperger's).
