Vlad opens the door to his living quarters.

Morph stretches. His long, lean body slides off the couch. He slinks up to greet us with a guilty look plastered across his animated face.

Kneeling down, I pull him into my arms and hug him. He chirps and nips at my fingers.

Vlad regards Morph and breathes a heavy sigh. I giggle because I know Vlad has already surveyed the room and has seen his couch.

It has a few cat toys, and a partially chewed N-bone on top of it. His jaws clenched and his lips pressed into a thin white line.

"Sarah." He clenches his teeth together, suppressing the rising anger. 'Your pet needs to learn his place, which is not on my furniture.'
