Indistinct voices murmur in the background, pulling at my consciousness. My brain strains to decipher their meaning. But they're just out of reach.

My eyes open, but they feel heavy and flutter briefly, then close. I groan. My body aches from head to toe. When I exhale, my labored breath whistles between my lips.

Finally, I open my eyes and survey the room. But I don't know where I am.

"I think she is coming around." Freya steps into view.

Bright light shines across my face, sending a searing pain shooting past my eyes and through my head. I wince and try to shield my eyes, but I can't move.

"Can you hear me?" Enoch asks. His hands touch my face. He's forcing my eyes open.

Another flood of light pierces my vision. "Stop. Please."
