Jackie was quite concerned about Bob. He seemed a little out of sorts. As she continued chatting with Tengku, she discreetly stole a glance at the clock each time she sipped her port.
*He hasn’t said a word in fifteen minutes! Is something wrong? Who was on the call with him this morning? Surely not Natasha, or he wouldn’t have discussed it with Tengku after ending the call, right?*
As it turned out the problem wasn’t cataclysmic, but it was a predicament all the same. Bob was being asked to allocate his personal block of funds to shore up the Tang family’s position on the board.
Tengku was well aware of Bob’s situation, and he continued to engage Jackie in conversation.
“I have to agree with what you. Making a policy change is like turning around an enormous ocean liner. It’s not that simple, and any change will require an in-depth study before they can decide,” Tengku said.
