The father cried for mercy toward the lady who is hosting the auction. He is quite witty since he knows that the lady is preventing him from taking action against the five due to her preserving the peace of the auction. 

Even though he is a mighty individual that went past the 20th floor of the tower, he is still helpless against the rules of the city. Once he is suppressed, he cannot possibly deal with the lady, much more the murderers of his child. He decided to swallow all of his anger and guilt the lady to the max in order to make her suppress or even kill the group.
