Kapitel 130: Chapter 130

Alvin did not break eye contact as he quickly took a look around, to see what he could use to fight this Werewolf while also doing a quick inventory of the items he had on him. While she seemed badly injured, he wouldn't underestimate a Werewolf's regeneration and tenacity.

The Werewolf also looked like it was after him. Maybe she escaped from the Machinery Hivemind by chance and saw the person who had the gunpowder explode right on right and decided to maul him, or maybe she specifically tracked him down for this purpose.

Either way, Alvin was not really at a disadvantage here if he went all out. While he was badly hurt, so was the Werewolf. And he had not exhausted any spirituality, and had his Pyromaniac powers at full capacity.

But Alvin decided to only use it as a last resort, because the traces would be obvious if he did. The official Beyonders may start having suspicions on how he ascended to Sequence 7 within 6 weeks after becoming a Beyonder, and the relations he built up nay deteriorate.

Alvin first pulled out his old faithful revolvers and started firing scattered shots. The Werewolf completely ignored them, as she started bounding forward. The bullets hit her, but they hardly penetrated her skin as they fell down.

Alvin retreated a bit, then pulled out his shotgun and fired at the exposed flesh of the Werewolf at a close range.

The Werewolf dodged this. A point-blank shot into its exposed wound was not something it could take easily as bullets into its mostly intact skin.

Alvin then proceeded to draw the Sword of Culling for the first time tonight, and swung it at the Werewolf. The Werewolf did not shy away from this, as it swung id claws towards the sword.

For 30 seconds, the Werewolf and Alvin exchanged blows back and forth. While the Werewolf was physically stronger and had more stamina, it was quite injured, which hampered its movements by a bit. But Alvin had already healed most of his injuries, and what remained was mostly soreness. Plus, the increased constitution and skill from the sword helped him stay competitive.

But the Werewolf still had the upper hand, as it could use some darkness related spells, and Alvin couldn't blast it with fireballs.

Alvin kept retreating, as he was pushed back by the ferocious Werewolf, but he kept this stalemate up as he felt that as long as he waited long enough, the Machienry Hiveminds would arrive. While they were dumb, considering that they let this Werewolf slip through, they had outstanding combat ability. Alvin still remembered the armour Fred wore. He didn't have confidence in using his sword or bullets to get past that thick armour, and he was sure there would be several steam pressured rifles in the joints of those armours.

As Alvin was pushed back yet was holding on, the frenzied yet rational Werewolf decided to break the stalemate by going on the offensive. She did not choose to block the next sword strike, and allowed it to strike her abdomen. She roared with pain, but maintained the posture of her claws reaching out, ready to rip Alvin apart. Having no other choice, Alvin was forced to abandon the sword and fling himself backwards to avoid this attack.

Now, she still could use her claws, but Alvin had no sword to deflect them. Hence, he immediately fell into a disadvantage. He tried dodging the claws as much as possible, and did so by the skin of his teeth. But it was only a matter of time before his flesh was ripped out by the pair of claws of this went on.

After another close miss, Alvin was able to duck behind a park bench. The Werewolf kept upon the bench, which instantly collapsed. Alvin used this time to put some distance between them.

He had noticed the park bench with a weak leg and slippery ground underneath, and lured the Werewolf there, knowing that it would probably jump on the bench that would collapse, and this but himself some breathing room.

He ran to a place in the park with a few trees, and clambered onto them. The Werewolf leapt up towards him, but Alvin managed to avoid its outstretched claws and kick her squarely in the face due to the height advantage. The Werewolf attempted to send a few darkness spells, but the sun was up, and even though the smog, it shined on the vicinity of the park, and hence they were not that effective, expecting for wounding Alvin a bit.

The Werewolf growled and attempted to leap up again, but this time Alvin threw a bird's nest at her face and hung on to a branch and kicked her even harder.

Once she got her bearings, she growled and started ripping at the tree. With two strikes, she managed to cut through half the tree, and it started tilting. Alvin leapt to a nearby tree, but the Werewolf also started ripping into this tree.

After 4 more trees fell down, Alvin seemed to be panicking. The expected backup was nowhere in sight, and there were only a few more trees left for him to jump to. And there were no considerable obstacles nearby for him to escape afterwards.

As Alvin jumped onto the second last tree and the Werewolf frenziedly struck it, instead of splintering, titling, and then falling down slowly like the previous trees, this tree snapped clean off instantly, and fell on the unsuspecting Werewolf. Alvin jumped upwards from the tree just before it fell, and used a high jump kick right into the Werewolf's injured abdomen. He then scrambled off, and related his shotgun and fired it onto her open wounds. He did it until all 4 of his spare shotgun shells ran out, and then got a few shots in with his spare revolver.

He then confirmed that the Werewolf was dead, and once again collapsed onto a nearby park bench.
