It was midday when Kai finally got the courage to head back to the clearing. The pain in his left shoulder was already starting to come back and his adrenaline high was long gone so he was feeling every bit of it. "Those bunnies seem scary but now that I have Qi, to work with, I should do better..."
Kai took a deep breath and slowly headed over to the tall grass clearing. "As long as I don't get bit, I should be fine. The kicks hurt but at least all they did was break a few ribs". The force of the kicks was actually quite painful and did result in broken bones, however, Kai's new constitution along with his rising physical resistance was helping him lessen the damage. That alongside an abnormally high recovery rate meant that the bones he broke would heal fairly quickly. "Flesh doesn't seem to grow back as easily".
His Flesh was slowly scabbing over however at this rate, it would likely take days that he did not have right now.
While Kai was worrying over his open wound, he heard a familiar "Whooshing" sound headed straight for him. This time Kai did not drop to the ground or try to run away. He was ready and determined. "I can't be scared forever," he thought.
Kai opened his arms as wide as possible as if getting ready to give it a big hug. The Hare appeared from the tall grass, moving in a zigzagging pattern towards Kai. "Come to your father!"Kai yelled with his arms wide open as the Hare got closer.
When it was a few meters away from Kai, it jumped into the air with it's maw aiming for Kai's neck. Just as it was about to reach him, Kai bent the back of his knees 90 degrees, forcing his body backward as if he was falling, yet his feet were still planted firmly on the ground.

>Twig [F-Rank -based on Grade 1 Twig]
[Technique]:[Passive; Footwork, Slightly increase balance when standing still]
This was the one and only function of "Twig", his most useless, yet most useful Martial Arts skill. The balance allowed him to be in weird positions while keeping unprecedented balance, so long as his feet didn't leave the ground.
This is one of the reasons why he was reluctant to replace the skill with any of the manuals he had created thus far. If used creatively, it could be useful.
After bending his knees, Kai was in a number 7 position with the astonished Hare right over his chest. He instantly took the initiative to wrap his open arms around its neck, making very sure that its mouth could not get to him. Surprised that it had been caught so easily, the beast started sending a volley of kicks onto Kai's chest, but he just ignored the pain, he had been through worse.
Kai gripped the neck and added some Qi to his arms while exerting violent force against it. The beast's neck turned a full 360 degrees, almost separating the head from the neck and killing it instantly.

"Well...that was anti-climactic," Kai thought as he dragged the body back to the hut and started analyzing the differences in the outcomes of both fights. "For the first fight, I was obviously terrified and ran away, giving the beast an opening to injury me, and eventually forcing me into an unfavorable melee".
"However, this second fight I was a lot calmer and ready". Kai also noticed that he had not used his skill Twig during the first encounter which had now been instrumental in helping him completely turned the tables in his favor. "Martial Arts cannot be underestimated it seems...but more than that...Qi itself seems to be insanely powerful. I barely needed to exert any force and the Hare's head was almost ripped off its shoulders. All at the cost of 1 Qi".
==[Status]==
[Qi]: 3/100
"If I hunt using 1 Qi per monster, I can make a profit of 1 Qi per fight!". Going off the confidence of this fight, Kai claimed his prize in the form of the Hare's carcass and decided to keep hunting all day. As he hunted, he noticed that this area was only populated by the Hares.
Luckily, they seemed territorial so they rarely grouped together, allowing Kai to hunt them one at a time using what he called the "Lucky number 7" skill where he would lure the rabbit to attack him before dropping backward suddenly, leaving the Hare open to getting caught easily.
During one of the hunts, Kai had failed to catch the Hare, thus making it cautious and drawing the fight out. At which point, Kai got fed up and simply ran towards the monster. With a Qi enhanced fist that landed squarely on its snout beneath its horn, before it could take a bite out of him, .
The Hare's head imploded instantly and Kai was left bewildered. From that moment on, his hunting style changed to punching them in the face instead of grappling them. "Either I'm getting stronger or these guys are just weak". Kai thought as he dragged his ninth victim of the day back to the hut.
It was getting dark and Kai had been hunting in the clearing all day. He wanted to keep going however, the dark still terrified him. He could not see clearly past a meter or so which would be way too dangerous considering how fast and vicious these monsters were.
Kai had hunted nine more rabbits that day. His efficiency had also increased and he was quickly gaining a better understanding of both the monsters and his current strengths and weaknesses.
Kai looked at his accumulated Qi and was pleased.
[Qi]: 22/100
For the smaller and weaker ones, Kai would just choke them out normally or drag them into the lake to save on Qi.
Kai opened his Internal Cultivation menu to check his progress.

>[Dragon Subduing Law] [F[Rank -based on Grade 1 Fishing Rod]

[Ability]: Absorb 2 Qi from a beast you have caught yourself. Limited to 2 Qi per beast. Limit increased based on cultivation level.
[Current level]: Level 1
[Qi Breakthrough Requirement]: 100 Qi [Second Level of Qi Condensation]
"I only need 78 more Qi to be able to go to the next cultivation level", Kai said to himself excitedly.
A lot had happened since he came to this world. Mostly horrible things, but now he finally felt like things were going his way. Sure he had to fight vicious killer bunnies, however, that's the law of this world. Kill or be killed. Kai had the power to rise to the top in this world so he would be foolish not to take it. However, as he thought of this, he started pondering over his goals.
He sat by the fire in the middle of the hut as the small blaze flickered. He pulled one of the grilled Hare legs from the fire pit and took a chomp out of it while thinking about his future.
"Power without purpose will likely corrupt me. As they say power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely". I don't want to end up as some corrupt villain waiting for a hero to take me down...I need a justifiable reason to seek more power. A reason that even I can't argue against".
Kai thought about this and realized he didn't really have a good reason. Ever since getting to this world, all he wanted to do was survive. Be it in either this world or on Earth, all he had ever done was survive.
"Apart from surviving, what else do I really want", Kai questioned himself. "Money?, Fame?, Beautiful women?...any and all of these can be obtained with enough power"...
But then one thing crossed his mind that he had dreaded thinking about
"Family?..."
In both worlds lost their family at a young age and suffered a lot in life. "That's right, only those with enough power can actually protect what is theirs"
"I'll build a new family, and in order to ensure that it never gets taken away from me, I'll become the strongest person in this world".... Kai felt a renewed sense of determination. He had always wanted a wife and children, and despite being in the body of a 14-year-old boy, his mind was still that of a 26-year-old man.
"I'll start a clan and raise my children as the strongest warriors. If I can extend my life with cultivation, I'll be able to see it grow and maybe one day become a dynasty!". Or maybe I can establish a powerful Cultivation sect.
The system's Internal cultivation manuals are unique. One does not have to have a spiritual root and the only limitations are set by the Rank of one's cultivation manual.
"An F-Rank Internal Cultivation manual is already this good. Imagine if I can get my hands on some A-Rank manuals or higher!. I could create the most powerful Sect in the world. And since there would be no requirements for disciples, I could just select those I deem to be unquestionably loyal.
Kai could almost see it. He pictured himself as the founder and Sect Leader of a majestic Sect, Surrounded by handpicked disciples studying his most powerful manuals and doing his bidding.
"But I'll have to be careful. The most terrifying monsters in any world are always people. I've read enough novels to know that it's always the most loyal ones that betray you in the end".
Kai decided to have as many fail-safes as possible before he even considered teaching other people his cultivation manuals...assuming he could even teach other people. He tried asking the System before but it just ignored him.
"But that is a problem for the future. What I need to do now is get stronger as quickly as possible. I can't reach any of my goals if I get killed before I get there. Let's focus on getting stronger one step at a time"
Kai then stood up and walked towards the pile of rabbit carcasses in the corner. He had decided to try turning one of them into a Cultivation Manual.
