Kapitel 29: Chapter 13

Kurt began to notice strange changes in the neighborhood.

New husbands, new wives, and many disappearances.

When he asked for explanations, he always got the same answer: «I don't know what you're talking about, we've always loved each other.»

He also talked about it with his wife. «Chrissie, haven't you noticed anything strange?»

«Of course I have noticed, they're not trying very hard to keep us in the dark. I think your dad got in trouble, Kurt. I've always thought that. It's all too perfect to be true. There is something in this city that gives me chills.»

«It's the same for me since I got here. I want to talk to my father.»

«I don't think that's a good idea, Kurt. It was him who gave the order to create this place.»

«Don't worry, it's my father. He would never hurt us.»

«I know I could hurt you by saying it but, I don't really trust him. He scares me… »

Kurt kissed her forehead. «I'll be careful. You wait for me here.»
