Lu Yan stayed by Nanyang's side in her ward. Lu Yan was shocked when she saw us.

Nanyang gave me a miserable smile. "Nanxing, remember you promised me that you'd take good care of my child..."

I said calmly, "I didn't give such a promise. You're a mother now, and you have to be responsible for your own child! You need to take care of her yourself!"

Nanyang smiled bitterly. "I can't even take care of myself, so how am I supposed to take care of her? Nanxing, I beg you. I'll give her to you. She is your blood relatives."

I glared at her. "What do you think you gave birth to? A box of fruits? Or a bunch of flowers? Can she be gifted like this? Aren't you afraid that she'll hate you when she grows up? Hate the fact that you have given her to someone else?"
