Fainting only to find himself in the body of a character from a fantasy novel he once read, Leo barely processed his new reality before he was thrown into another whirlpool.
[ Role: Reader ]
[ Target: Reach the Epilogue. ]
The only lead he had about his 'transmigration' didn't speak much! Even the character he took over already had a foot in the coffin! How was he supposed to survive that long? Why did he have to become the protagonist's brother?!
Moreover, what was this Personal Book supposed to be? Reading Attributes? Points?
Follow Leo as he experiences the true life of a reader from one fantasy book to another, using his knowledge and the unique Special Ability to face the expected and unexpected, encountering all kinds of 'new'...

Schreiben Sie eine RezensionOnly I Am a Reader is a story about Leo Lock, a boy born with the ability to read books and obtain some of the skills mentioned in them. One day, he was suddenly transported into one of the books he read, and forced to survive until the ending. Overall, a really refreshing infinity-novel. I can't say too much so far, it's a lot slower than your typical infinity-novel, but that arguably makes it better. Hopefully it doesn't fall into the typical pitfalls. Writing quality is above-average, there are still some minor mistakes but everything is readable. (4/5 stars) Story development is pretty good. Both arcs in the first 300 chapters are pretty good, I'm hoping they focus more on the real world after the second arc though. Both stories seem realistic, even if both of them have rather cliché plots. Although it is interesting to see those "cliché plots" get fleshed out more than they normally would. (5/5 stars) The character design I have somewhat mixed feelings about. The characters are good, and most of them are rather 3d. For the most part, they feel like real people. However, due to the fact that the main character is going into novels, there is this ever-present barrier that the author puts around said characters that prevents them from being too fleshed out. Besides that, the main character still hasn't been properly fleshed out, there is a hint of romance at chapter 300, but it is extremely slow. (4/5 stars) World background is great. Obviously, some things are going to remain somewhat unrealistic considering it always has a third-party view on various protagonist's luck. Aside from that, these worlds are fleshed out and make sense, more-so than most infinity novels. (4/5 stars) Overall, novel is pretty great. Unfortunately there's some disconnect with the other worlds that prevent them from being super-great, but that comes along with the genre I suppose. Aside from that, everything is above-average. I give this novel 4.4 stars out of 5.
Now that I have finished the Second Volume with over 400 chaps out, it's time to write a review once again. light spoilers might be included so only read this review if you wanna get a glimpse of what this book is about, otherwise jump into it and try to give it a chance for 5~10 chapters. You might enjoy it if you like novels such as Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, Novel's Extra, Author's POV, TCF, Fantasy Simulator, Astral Apostle, 48 Hours a Day, The Protagonists Are Murdered By Me, or Murim novels like Nano Machine or Chronicles of the Heavenly Demon. (specifically the second volume) Anyway, this book tells the story of Leo whose already special reading capacity breaks through reality to place him inside various books that he read, all while hints of mystery are ongoing back on reality. In short words, this is a world hopping novel, also known as an infinity novel, something that I personally enjoy, and would recommend to those who get bored of the same setting in novels after reading a couple hundred chapters. Hope you enjoy this if you decide to read it and feel free to ask any(spoiler free) questions in the comments. - P.S: attached pic is an imagination of one of MC's variations.
The design of this world the author has created isbreally unique and refreshing take on "system like" novels with the main character's "book" and "reader" abilities he accumulated over time. While the "book" ability system seems a little confusing at first, it constantly is being further updated and explained in great detail throughout the story. The author does a great job explaining the world and the details when we need to know them to understand the novel. I was very pleasantly surprised with the amount of attention to detail that was put into this story, and appreciate the thoughtful consideration the author put into creating this world for us to read. I look forward to see how this story progresses for Leo and what kind of abilities he will get, and the heights he will reach. I hope we'll get to see him experience more roles as a "reader" in different and interesting worlds.
Really written very well ^^ This is a good catch in this platform. I have nothing else to say except that the MC is developed real good. His background, his specialties, the challenges he faced didn't feel forced... the protagonist brother of his (despite being described as the typical edgy MC) is quiet interesting as well. If you like the Author's POV, the novel's extra, you will like this ^^
I don't have much to say except that it's pretty interesting imo. Those who liked reading The Author's Pov probably would probably like this a lot as well.
You, yes you that person who are searching for a novel to read, thank god you met this comment. Now if youre asking to me if the story is good or not then welp, yes its good, really good actually first of all unlike most novel i read in this site this story is extremely original not just the concept but the place the main character is transported to, if you have read upto around 15-20 chapters you could probably feel how original the story is. you may think at the first few chapters that the writing style is preety boring and that the mc isnt as smart as someone with that "talent" would be but, dont give up[img=faceslap] because it will get better, funner, greater, smoother as the story progresses, throughout the whole story you would be able to see multiple characters that WILL leave an impression on you. the characters in this novel feels like human. main character is smart, realistic and talented its an amazing book. The thing i enjoy the most from this novel is 100% the main character, i love his character and his character development well i give this novel a 10/10 webnovel rating, 9/10 novel rating. If you look at my profile you would see that I usually give novels a 5 star but its mostly because i dont want to give a novel a low rating and im going to tell you that this novel is worth the 5 star, though the writing style isnt as enjoyable as other novels the concept and story line carries it making it an amazing novel.
You read a story and you don't like the ending. You also prepare your own end. So is this story. The reader changes the story he/she wants behind his/her name. Their stories are long and cliche.
Now that the first volume is finally over, I decided to make this to give an overview about what you should expect. The story follows Leo Lock, a reader that everyone on this app could probably relate to(even if a little), as he slowly uncovers what it means to be a ‘reader’ from the very center of the novel itself. While he isn’t exactly a top of the world genius, Leo falls within the range of smart mcs. He utilizes his knowledge about the novel and common tropes alongside his upgraded ‘reading’ to change his standing within the novel, obtaining certain benefits as he does so. Although this might seem to be an overdone concept at this point, it should have its own unique points. Finally, though you will have to read to understand how it works in this novel, this is an ‘infinity’ novel. Hope you find it enjoyable if you do read, and feel free to ask any(spoiler free) questions in the comments.
I totally like the new concept of this novel. To use the future knowledge of the story to gain strength is another point i like. The story is well written. keep it up.[img=update][img=update][img=update]
Actual seems like a good read for now because we only got 21 chapters in so I'm not too sure but with what I've been seeing I say it'll be great
I loved the first volume 10/10 for me but i hate second volume same amount. It is too long and boring to be fair i did skim trough last 100 chapters because i couldnt bear with it. I hopr next volume will be better.
the story is really interesting and something fresh its not like the usual thing and the progress is smooth too there are many intereresting parts and it will probably contain multiple worlds
it is the best book I will read for months and years to come. I love books like this where the mc should be able to become a master of all the best
Finally something new and different. The novel's plot is very enjoyable and the updating stability plus the length of each chapter is also pretty good. There was not once that i was bored or weirded out in the novel. Keep up the good work.👍👍.
Good novel. Would recommend. [img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update][img=update]
I lost interest. Some stuff were just not being addressed and it leaves off in a unsatisfied way. The battles and fights were lacking dialogue. Not enough back to back confrontation with enemies and the lack of being on the edge my sit reading, it was really bland. Mc didn’t struggle; barely fighting the majority of what I’ve read and I’m at 137 chapters, too much dialogue and details on skills and books. I feel like what I was reading was good but majority of it was mediocre. it was trying to be really good but it just was lacking to me. And I get attached to characters so when he left the book or world he was in and I know for sure the characters there he was never gonna meet again is kinda sad. But I understand that’s the premise of the novel I expected to dislike that part of this novel when I came to read it. But I was expecting other things to be top notch. 7.5/10. Good luck author it was a decent read.

Writing quality is great, I don't have to reform the sentences in my head. ***** Updates are prety good(not the "5 updates per 3 days now wait month" style). **** Story seems to come along nicely, not breaking apart every 3 chapters like other novels. ***** Characters feel alive, realistic. ***** Book too small to judge background yet, so **** until expansion. Overall, it's a good read. 4.6 rounds up to 5 btw is this the correct way to do spoilers?
