Kapitel 66: Appearance Vampire-Wise

The Tactician is one of the rarer classes because it is only given to an operator with high strategic capabilities, someone who can command their comrades to victory with as few casualties as possible, a master strategist. Looks like the Assailants are deeply impressed by your performance on the hunting simulation. It's still crude of them to give you this class without any field experience, is it because you're a Primordial?

An Aggressor might be a little bit misleading from its name but this class is heavily referring to specialized versions of Vanguards who have high perception to deal with upcoming enemies before full blown combat happens, especially in a dangerous Calamity Mission to prevent a 'Divine Banquet'. A Divine Banquet is a term for an innumerable number of Calamities rising in the middle of the mission, mostly resulting in a squad wipe.

Then comes the Annihilator, a high end class that includes many traits of different classes. One of the basic requirements is to have a high resilience, considerable firepower, and tactical acumen. Though there is a rule written that this particular class can be stripped from the personnel if they exude any weaknesses. Which might also mean that they will be the face of the Assailants' informational public power, as there will be many third party powers coming for you. Basically, they are the living target dummy for any opposition who wants to cripple the Assailant Department.

Ironic, an organization fighting for the survival of all kin is being backstabbed by whom they protect to the point of needing bait for many assassination attempts. Makes you wonder how these races of demi-humans survive till this day.

'This part for 'Annihilator' seems to be rather highly undisclosed, otherwise it won't work.'

You rip apart the Annihilator pages and immediately cast a fire spell to destroy any evidence of the purpose of the Annihilator.

'Either they made a blunder for giving this classified information, or they're playing four dimensional chess and know that I'm assertive enough to do this.'

But why do they trust you so much? Looking at the likelihood, it seems to be the former case.

'What a fitting name, Annihilator, a magnet to annihilate most of the problematic occurrences for the branch. Basically, they want me to be a meatshield for them.'

There are still many documents to be read but something rather disturbing has just happened. It's about Lues, casually showing you a dead torso of a person drained of its blood, devoid of any limbs and missing its head—

'Don't tell me that this is one of the agents trying to eliminate me!?'

"There are still five mosquitos on the other side of the building. Sadly, they became intimidated after I did some magic show for them," says Lues as she converts the dead body into a pill, then casually crunching it like some snack. "Have you read the document?"

"I did," you reply, meaning that she knows the situation with the Annihilator case. "By the way, you haven't shown me your Operator Class Card."

"Oh right!" A pocket space appears beside you with the card sticking out, ready to be taken.

You scan her apparel one more time and see no accessories for the Assassin Class. The mana conductor must be coming from the Slayer Class, probably some class with high firework-shows capabilities recalling what that crimson devil did back on the Test Range.

Although from all of this 'Vampire' gimmick, you notice something obvious missing. Both you and Lues are paler than a porcelain but neither does both of you have any vampiric trait according to their story and legend. Indeed that Lues and you rely on blood for your technique but that doesn't qualify much to the proper standard on what vampires are known to look like. It will be extremely bad if a true Primordial sees two fakers in front of them sooner or later.

"Lues, can you make my appearance more vampiric?" you ask, out of the blue. Giving back her operator-class card.

"Hmm? No problemo."

She does a little gun bang gesture as the imaginary bullet strikes the hell out of you like lightning. Heat, pain, and more pain. Most of the cells within your body are being rewritten. DNAs change, it took 10% of your mana to overclock the process as sharp pain induces while the anguish warms up to the side of your head. Your ears become longer and pointy similar to those of typical elf stereotypes. Hoping for two fangs to grow and sharpen, but instead, all of your teeth become those akin to Lues' triangle shark teeth.

"Since when did vampires have serrated teeth!?"

"Huh, you mean the original four-pointy-canines akin to ancient predatory mammals? I feel like those kinds of fangs for sucking blood by jolting small holes on prey are rather inefficient." Lues then proudly shows you her big grin of saw-like teeth, zigzagging line like a nasty zipper. "With these serrated teeth, you can just reap the flesh and slurp on those red goodies!"

"THAT IS NOT HOW VAMPIRISM WORKS!"

The sudden changes make you feel uncomfortable, as you keep gritting your teeth because of how unusual it was. At least the pointy ears are on spot!

Lues then follows as she engineers her ears, what could've gone wrong?

You then remember that there will be breakfast at 7 am, half an hour from now on. It is mentioned on the recommendation letter that the three of you will be living in this hotel for one week. So might as well vacuum all of the luxury before sleeping on the streets.

"Are you sure that we will be getting out of this room with this getup?" you ask.

"Why not? It seems like there are quite many Vagants in this hotel."

"THAT IS WHAT I MEANT!"

And so, you end up going to the restaurant with that getup after waking up the sleeping Chrolay. Retrieving the breakfast vouchers from the reception, the three of you enjoy the scrumptious food from 12,000 into the future where humanity is dead, with a side of numerous people gazing like you're some sort of attraction.

You didn't bring your peaked cap because it wasn't necessary to show the world that you're a Tactician, but somehow still wearing the thick protective petticoat which isn't a petticoat at all. Nonetheless, it will end up the same as the rest of the killer agents are now aiming their guns at you, having your neck and shoulder protected might probably be more assuring.

Then the breakfast ends without any chaos. The three of you then explore the hotel and meet some of the Vagant's personnel living here. There is a massage room, spa, gym, swimming pool, and more stuff that was supposed to be inside a five star hotel.

You're itching to get your hands on new information and experimentation, but you managed to preserve either way as you don't want to be a nerdy dopamine addict. The time then hits 09:30, it is time to enter the Assailant headquarter once again. Chrolay decides to stay at the hotel so you probably should be worrying about a certain someone who would rape you out of nowhere.

"ATCHOO! Hueh, I feel like someone is talking about me," says Lues.

"Must be your imagination."

Inside the public unmanned-taxi, you're on your way to sector 10 of the eastern part of Amos Citadel. A.K.A, Assailant Dept Headquarter. It didn't take long before the two of you arrived.
