Kapitel 72: Save 38 - War Breaks Out

I arrived at Their Majesties room, Liam was there too and depressed.

I told them that there was a change of plans, they were astonished and I asked them to wait for me on the roof in 15 minutes.

After leaving their room, I met a servant, I told him that there was a change with the departure time.

Then, I asked him to bring me a certain item that Ixion informed me was in the treasure vault.

He was reluctant at first, but I told him that I had full authority as the supreme commander and he fearfully complied.

I headed to my room to change while Ixion got everything ready.

The 15 minutes passed quickly. I was already changed and with one of my two rings on.

I wanted them back since some bastard knight stole them to leave them there.

Fortunately, nothing bad happened, the only problem was that I couldn't find the one I stole from the pirate, only the one I bought, the beautiful blue one.

Their Majesties were in front of me, the Queen was sad while the King? He looks at me annoyed, why is this guy annoyed?

His eyes look at me in a bad way.

I'll ignore him and concentrate on what's happening now.

"My Queen and... the King, I'm leaving now. When I return, it will be good news for you."

Battler was behind me and his hatch was open.

Lecia, the Queen, gave me some last words.

"Viscount... May I call you Rudel-kun like Mayer?"

I should feel happy to be called that, but at this moment, Ixion applied a new drug that removes all strong emotion.

No doubt I'll have a terrible time tomorrow for using too much doping.

I replied, "I don't see the problem," and went up to Battler as she continued.

"I don't know what will happen over there, but I want you to know, the kingdom and everyone thanks you for what you are doing."

I looked at her and then at the King. Still upset for some reason.

As the cabin closed I said to them.

"That doesn't matter to me, I just want them to deliver what they promised."

From inside Battler, I noticed that her face was sadder because of what I said.

I didn't say goodbye since I was coming back, the only thing I did say was.

"Ixion, let's go!"

Battler took flight and was slowly flying away from the rooftop, behind me robots, drones and airships belonging to ancient technology were coming.

The number was 50 aircraft, 150 robots and 90 drones.

The sky was gradually looking black due to their colors as they were flying over the capital.

We slowly moved away and I noticed something strange.

"Ixion. And Brunhilde?"

Brunhilde, my super tech airship wasn't here.

With her, the enemies would fall without making the slightest effort.

Ixion was positioned in the corresponding space. He spoke to me in a strange tone.

"Master, sorry, but I'll be late."

"You'll be late? Hey, don't try to betray me and just now."

"I won't."

"Then?"

Ixion had been weird for a while now, but today was the weirdest day of all since even quiet he was quiet until before he learned the truth of this world.

"You see... there is a matter I must attend to..."

His voice sounded strange, almost as if between cuts.

"Ixion, your voice is unintelligible. Is something wrong?"

"Yes. I am in Brunhilde."

I said in surprise.

"You're in Brunhilde? But your body is here."

"Master, you forgot that I told you that being the administrator of all this technology I have unique access, remember?"

"Yes, and?"

"I can transfer data from my hard drive to other automatons that I have dominion over. Brunhilde is, so my, you can tell consciousness is on the airship right now."

That's surprising, I didn't know that.

"I understand, but what did you do it for?"

Ixion was momentarily silent, the capital was no longer in sight, I was heading for the Duchy Kingsfort. To be more exact, to the enemy fleet coming straight here.

"...I have an important matter to attend to."

"What could be more important than what I'm about to do!" I asked annoyed, but he.

"...Master, please excuse me. It's something very important that I must attend to as soon as possible, once I'm done with it, I'll come to you to finish this quickly."

I was puzzled, Ixion behaves strange, very strange indeed.

"...How long do you think you'll be?"

"Actually, I'm not sure."

"Is it necessary Brunhilde?"

"It is and very much so."

"I understand. You'd better hurry or else..."

"You'll turn me into scrap metal?"

I'll definitely get the truth out of you as to why you're so mysterious.

"Hurry up."

"Thanks, leave a spare."

"Spare?"

Suddenly, Battler flashed a message on a holographic screen.

"And this?"

"Leave an artificial consciousness in Battler. He learns every passing minute, he'll be at the level of a child, but he's like a child's version of me. He'll be useful in anything. Now, if you'll excuse me-"

The communication was cut off.

"Ixion, hey Ixion, are you there?"

For a few hours now the communication has been failing, I don't know what's going on, but it doesn't matter.

I could see on the coordinates that in 5 minutes I will arrive at the battlefield.

I was preparing the dose I needed to relax while Battler flew without my help.

Then, I closed my eyes to psych myself up for the carnage I'm going to cause.

No, to be correct. The carnage I'm going to accomplish.

For, I will teach them with a line of corpses that their best option is to surrender.

I opened my eyes and muttered.

"Today will be a very black day."

◇◇◇

Inside the Royal Palace, minutes after Rudel left.

"Alisa!"

"Run quickly!"

"Stop please!"

The girls were running away through the corridors while escaping from some guards.

The reason was what happened earlier.

Alisa and Airi were in the room prepared for them after arriving, they were full of dust and sweat, so someone prepared new uniforms for them.

After changing, Alisa was going to leave to look for Rudel, she wanted to tell him that what happened earlier was not a problem for them, they were going to forget about it since it is something normal for a man.

As Alisa opens the door.

"Huh?"

Some gentlemen were guarding her door, she asked them what was going on.

One knight told her that they received orders from Rudel not to let them out.

Alisa thought it was because of what happened until Airi called out to her.

"Alisa, come look!"

Alisa ran to the window where Airi was, there, they both watched as the ships and robots moved away towards the same direction.

Something bad was going on was what they thought, it would be a long time before the allies would leave under Rudel's command.

Both went to the door, the gentlemen refused to let them leave.

From another window, Airi saw that there were almost no Rudel ships left in the capital.

Then, Alisa became annoyed.

She reached out her left hand toward the knights and with her right grabbed Airi's hand.

"Fireball!"

A red magic circle manifested and from it, a flaming sphere shot out shattering both the gate and sending the guards flying.

"Run, Airi!"

With those words, they both ran at the top of their lungs heading for the room where Rudel was.

There were many knights who tried to stop them, but Alisa, used her magic to send them flying.

In one of the corridors she ran into her brother.

"Alisa what are you doing!"

She asked him in shouts as the knights surrounded them.

"Brother! And, Rudel?"

Vayne, was silent and all he said was.

"Go back to your room, he is busy!"

Airi shouted.

"Alisa, I don't hear the ships engines anymore!"

Hearing that, Alisa, raised her left hand and a large magic circle manifested in the air.

"What are you doing A-?"

Before her brother or anyone else moved.

"Fire magic: Vulcan's wrath!"

Small fireballs fell from the magic circle, hitting everyone but them.

His brother was hit and went flying into a wall.

"Brother, I'm sorry!"

"I'm sorry, really!"

Airi also apologized as holding hands they ran to Rudel's room.

They made it, but as they entered. Its occupant was gone.

They left the room to search aimlessly for Rudel as they called out to him.

Then, as they ran down a long corridor.

"Kyah!"

Airi tripped over her own feet breaking away from Alisa's hand.

She after running a few feet realized her hand wasn't holding anything, she turned around to look at her friend on the floor.

"Airi!"

Alisa ran to Airi to help her up, but as she did so.

"Why?"

Airi lifted her face to look at Alisa with a frightened expression.

"Why isn't there even a single ship of Rudel-san, let alone his presence?"

"Alisa, this is all very strange!"

Airi seemed to panic, Alisa started to tremble as she didn't understand the reason for wanting them locked in their room.

It was there that they heard footsteps approaching.

They both turned their gazes to the front, there they found a relapsed Liam walking.

"Your Highness!"

Alisa called out to him, but Liam was not responding. Airi stood up and they watched him walk as if he was dead in life.

Alisa grabbed him to ask him something.

"Your Highness! By any chance, have you seen Rudel?"

Liam, just noticing Alisa and Airi there, inadvertently blurted out something inappropriate.

"Bradford? He went off to fight alone. He said the rest of us weren't needy."

Both of their minds froze at hearing that.

Airi asked Liam very excitedly.

"What does that mean Your Highness!!! Why would Rudel-san do that?"

Liam, moved his lips without thinking about what he said.

"...He said he'd finish this alone, that we're all useless and would delay him, that's why he went off alone to fight."

Airi put both hands to her mouth, tears streaming down her wrists.

Alisa was still clutching Liam.

"Your Highness, that doesn't make sense! Rudel is the supreme commander, he can't just leave! Why didn't you stop him?"

Liam replied with a lifeless smile as he looked at her.

"...Why, he said it was goodbye for us."

At that moment, both Alisa and Airi had the same thought.

Rudel was sinking into the sea.

At the thought, Airi collapsed to her knees as she repeated the same thing.

"There's no way Rudel-san plans to die in combat... he's the kind of person who would rather run away than die... he has Battler, Brunhilde and Ix-kun on his side."

"Alisa..."

Airi called out to her friend as her face showed dread and fear.

"Rudel-san is going to die?"

Alisa, hearing her say that, grabbed Liam tightly.

"React at once, you, stupid crown prince!"

She threw her right fist on his cheek impacting hard and knocking him to the ground.

Liam didn't know what was happening.

Alisa walked over to him and sat on his chest.

She grabbed his shirt and proceeded to take it out on him.

"For once in your cowardly life be a man!"

Her fist was hitting him, the crown prince, the protagonist, the person she swore to serve in the future.

This girl was not the person who was supposed to serve the royal family.

Airi was still frightened until she noticed the sound of the beating.

She got up to stop her.

"Alisa you are!"

"I always knew it!"

Airi reached up to stop her, but tears were falling from Alisa's face with every blow to Liam.

"I...I always knew, no one needed to tell me you hate me! I knew it from my childhood, I never knew what the problem was, but I didn't care since you were going to be king."

More tears came down as the fist slowly descended.

"I tried to love Klein .... but, he was always distant and dark and with this. You don't know how glad I am that he was a traitor!"

Her hand now gripped Liam's shirt.

"I'm not asking you for anything...but, for once in your life act like the prince dammit!"

His hand came down and Airi looked up at her.

"I... I love Rudel, I don't want to lose him...I know he'll win. And when he does, I'll hug him and give him kisses till I'm sick of him."

Her hands were shaking at the next thing she said.

"If the worst comes to the worst...I want to be with him in his last moments. I don't want to live in a world where I can't see his face. You don't know what it's like to love someone so much and not want to lose them!"

Airi heard that and muttered to her friend.

"Alisa, you were so determined... sorry, I didn't imagine you thought like me. Living in a world without Rudel-san, that's something I don't want to see either."

Alisa wiped her tears and looked at Airi.

"Hehe, we're certainly very idiotic girls, we're so desperate for him. But he doesn't tell us his feelings, personally, even I didn't imagine myself that he would act like this for that silly boy."

They both smiled, but Liam.

"Alicelotte, get off of me."

Alisa heard Liam speaking in a choppy voice, it was because his face was a mass of red.

Alisa got off of him and then apologized. Then some gentlemen ran to them.

Liam stopped them and with a puffy face said.

"Everything you said about you and Bradford is true?"

Alisa was nodding about it.

"And, what you said about me too."

Without hesitation, she nodded as well.

Liam laughed with a puffy face.

"Wow, so you were normal after all. I'm happy to know that both you and Bradford are haters."

They both wanted to answer him about what he said.

"I have someone I love too, but it seems my feelings to her are inferior."

Both of them again wanted to tell him something about that, but their expression was somber at the thought.

"For that, I'll show her, I apologize for being a jerk just now. Now, let's get ready to go to Bradford, that hater thinks he can fight without his army. I will show him the determination of the knights and royal family of Altfode."

They were both glad to hear that.

"I will speak to my parents to get permission for us to leave."

"Your Highness, I think I should be the one to do that."

"Why?" Liam asked.

"That's because you're an idiot. I'm sorry, but if I don't convince your mother we'll never go out."

Alisa told Liam that he was useless in more ways than one. He sadly agreed, Airi went over to heal him while Alisa thought.

(Rudel, I don't know what you plan on going alone, but we'll come help you, just wait and pray for your safety).

The three of them set off after fixing Liam's face.

◇◇◇

Bacchus had returned to a ship, on that ship was Bandel who escaped and crashed on the deck.

He, not getting out of his mobile knight, walked using those metallic legs to the cargo side where the other armed units were.

Bacchus and his group were placed in the front with Klein, but hearing that their leader returned, the vice-captain flew to see him.

Bandel was still inside his armed unit, Bacchus was calling to him from the outside.

"Young master, are you all right?"

After a while, the man's voice was heard.

"...Bacchus, aren't you? I'm fine, just tired, don't worry about me. More importantly, how is everything over there?"

Bacchus informed him.

"Everyone is waiting for your order, the survivors of that brat's attack want revenge. We're willing to die fighting to bring him down."

There was no response from Bandel.

"Young master, if you are not well. We can escape to somewhere far away and hide there."

"So many years of hating the Bismarck's are bad for your health."

"...You're wrong." Bandel said in a low tone.

"The real culprits are the Kingsfort, they contacted the Bismarck's and wiped us out. I remember my father once said... that his employer was a horrible man and that he extorted money from everyone."

Bacchus couldn't believe his ears.

"If that's true, then the Bismarck's are not our enemies but the Kingsfort!"

"Wrong..."

Bandel's voice was growing with fury.

"Bacchus, don't you understand? Altfode was always our enemy. Everyone who targets us is, that's why it doesn't matter if we work for the devil, at the end of the day. We'll bite his throat with our poison!"

Bacchus had a sad face when he heard that, his expression changed to a firm one after asking something.

"Your orders my captain?"

There was silence until an alarm sounded.

"An enemy fleet is approaching!"

Sailors and soldiers were in position and getting ready to fight.

Bacchus wanted to use that opportunity to escape.

But Bandel spoke words that astonished him.

"I have only one order for you and all...die for me. Buy me time until my weariness wears off."

Bacchus put his hand on his chest.

"As your vice-captain and caretaker since your childhood! This one, Bacchus zu Bertre, will never forget the debt to his family after rescuing me from the republic and giving me a roof over my head. I will gladly throw my life away so that you have a chance to finish off that brat!"

"..."

There was no reply, Bacchus nodded and headed back to his armed unit to return to his fleet.

While Bandel inside...

"...I'm sorry. Old friend, but today... no one will make it back alive."

He was being covered both he and his armed unit by a black liquid that seemed to writhe as if it was a beating heart.

◇◇◇

After being in a lot of dialogue with the queen, Alisa finally managed to convince her to allow them to go help Rudel.

There was only one problem, most fleets from the capital were still evacuating.

Those that were not, were anchored and ready to sail.

Before communications in general were mysteriously cut off.

They received a message that the remaining nobles with fleets were heading for the battlefield as going from their territories to the capital and then heading towards the Kingsfort Duchy was a waste of time.

Some thought it was a ploy to get out of the call.

Alisa, Airi and the others were aboard the royal ship, which they called by the name the machine said.

They were ready, but the number of allies was few, even the student army was gathering.

Liam was ready along with Chlust and Frey in mobile knights that belonged to the royal family.

Lecia didn't want to let him go, but fortunately Rudel's second AI, Bell, was in charge of the ship's security.

At the top of her lungs, if she had one, she would shout.

"I'll protect the girls with my life! Incidentally, these four too!"

Bell was talking about an extra fourth crewman, that person was Erselica.

She wanted to ask Alisa why she was here.

But as she approached her.

An almost animal-like look turned in her direction. The same gaze had Airi, they seemed to meticulously watch every detail of her, even her breathing.

Erselica was startled to the point of falling to her knees as she watched the girls talking to Bell.

"Why can't we contact Rudel?"

"Umm... I don't know. There's some strange interference and I can't even contact Ixion-senpai."

"By the way, Alicelotte?"

"Tell me Alisa."

"Ok. Alisa, what is Erselica doing here?"

Without even looking at her, Alisa answered.

"She is still the Saint to many. The people nor the nobles nor anyone outside of the temple or outside of the ministers know she is an imposter. For that reason, seeing her go to the battlefield will make morale grow.... I hope."

Airi took Alisa's hand.

"I'm sure Rudel will be fine. He's strong and losing is not part of his character."

Alisa smiled at her.

"That's true. For sure, he must be laughing as he defeats them."

They both gave a light innocent laugh, but that laugh hid their fear reflected in their trembling arms and legs.

Their true thoughts were.

(Rudel, stay safe until we arrive.)

(Rudel-san, please stay with us.)

A message rang.

It was an alert that I found the enemy at last.

I slept for a while to get over the effects of fatigue from the morning.

Checking the time, it was 2:36 pm.

No doubt, it has been a long day.

But, it would soon be over.

Battler was informing me that the enemies were sending mobile knights along with small ships.

There were three gigantic ships that were probably the flagships.

The one on the left had the flag of the commonwealth while the one in the middle and right had the crest of the Kingsfort Household.

Surely the head of the Household is in the middle. This will be a piece of cake.

I will cause a massacre by eliminating the one in the middle and they will give up when they see that winning is impossible.

I ordered Battler to inform the robots manning the ships along with the drones.

"Kill them mercifully. Ten minutes of slaughtering them is enough."

I never imagined I would say that. Am I becoming a monster?

I don't feel anything when I say I'm going to kill hundreds of people.

I know there is a drug in my body that kills my emotions. And that many of the people I'm going to kill are scum.

But, there are probably people like me; those who must do it for their family, friends, lovers, parents fighting for their children. Children who want to protect their parents and children who are waiting for their parents to return.

I'm sorry, but many are not coming back.

Hate me if you want, loathe me if you want, spit my name.

But today, you are going to lose many of your loved ones by my hand.

I feel nothing.

Truly, I am the worst of demons.

Battler reported that the small ships released a gigantic amount of magical beasts.

I grabbed Battler's controls to get into combat position.

Less than a minute to get close to the fleet.

I directed Battler's hands to the front.

I pressed a button and, two magic circles manifested in his hands.

The magic circles had circuit lines in them. This was not normal magic, it was something Ixion created, artificial magic and according to him, this is superior to normal magic.

The two circles grew larger with each passing moment and, Battler put his hands inside.

The circle ran along his arms until it reached his shoulders.

After he finished running around the shoulders, the circle disappeared and in each hand he carried two mini machine guns. The shoulders had a large canister each containing 30 thousand rounds that can penetrate the target with intensity with each passing second, even at long range it makes them more dangerous.

I aimed both guns at the mobile knights approaching me, the cannons started to rotate little by little until they gain enough to fire at 120 km/h.

The robots also had their submachine guns ready.

The drones were ready with embedded rocket launchers.

The ships were showing off their cannons.

The enemy numbered approximately 1300.

In ten minutes I will leave 600 or 500 alive to surrender.

Without further interruption, the massacre began.

I pulled the trigger.

Not even 2 seconds passed and the cannons launched a hail of bullets so fast I couldn't count them.

The bullets looked like mosquitoes buzzing.

I watched without interest as the bullets tore through the magic shields and mobile knights as if they were crumpled paper.

One enemy tried to flee, but was torn to pieces without even leaving a trace.

All enemies ended up the same way.

I just pulled the triggers and moved Battler's hands like it was a game.

Oh, it's true. This world is a disgusting game that makes lives get wiped out just to keep the plot going.

Battler was showing me how my ships were firing non-stop cannons blowing smaller ships to pieces.

The floating robots shoot at the monsters, the drones support them, though others also help me kill soldiers.

Some drones seemed to play with them.

Two mobile knights were grabbed by drones and both were heading to crash into each other like two drunks driving.

The men inside screamed before colliding and generating an explosion.

Another enemy tried to run away, he was grabbed by two drones, head and foot, another drone came and like cheese cut him in half.

I said they will kill them mercifully and quickly, but they seem to exaggerate something.

The bigger ships were approaching and took down a few robots.

It bothered me, they will think they have a chance.

I will not allow it!

I ordered Battler to launch the glowers.

He seemed to accept by beeping.

I watched through the drone cameras as the decks of the ships opened up.

Something resembling a square missile launcher came out.

It had twenty round holes inside.

The contents were something resembling yellow cylinders.

The missile launchers focused on the steel ships.

"Fire."

I shouted those words cheerlessly and watched as one by one they were launched at the ships.

They spun in the sky as they fell.

Some drones zoomed in to show me what was going on.

After spinning for a few seconds, they fell in different areas and as if they were claws, they adjusted themselves so as not to be removed.

They all fell showing to the front, a soldier watched one. Then, a pulsating red light appeared.

Then a second one, the soldier used his rifle to touch it, the third one came and the front part opened.

The soldier could not know what happened, as his consciousness was obliterated by a huge explosion that destroyed the deck.

Not only there, in all directions that fell gigantic explosions were happening.

Ship after steel ship inflated like balloons and exploded.

Drones approached a ship that took no damage.

The sailors inside activated magic shields, to no avail as the drones analyzed the shield to find their weakness.

They took out their machine guns and as if they were balloons, they destroyed the shields leaving red spots where the bullets hit.

Only two minutes had passed and the casualties were less than 200.

It would undoubtedly be a long day.

"Let's speed this up."

I said that and ordered a ship through Battler to take charge of directing all the glowers at the middle flagship.

I watched as the larger ship on my side directed all missile launchers at the big steel ship.

A slight thought passed over my head as I watched it get ready.

(This all happened because I defended Alisa from Klein.)

(If... I had not done so, I would never be in this trouble. I would never have fought the pirates, I would never have had to kill and, above all, I would live happily in peace).

(...What an idiot I am! To wish I hadn't saved Alisa? It's absurd! I swore to protect her and Airi. If I hadn't intervened, she would be suffering or worse because of that bastard).

The missile launchers were fired, hitting the Kingsfort flagship.

(According to Erselica, Klein never displayed that kind of behavior in the game. But in reality it's a different matter).

(That bastard is a scumbag both as a man and as a human. Personally, I don't care if he lives or not, he'd still be damned for this. Both Liam and mainly Alisa, will never see that idiot again).

I watched as the ship exploded and broke in half.

(That's why I yelled at Siegwald, since Ixion checked his Household and found out things he didn't know. I am upset with him for using his daughter as if she were a pawn, but at the same time, it is because of that mistake that I and she can be friends. Also to Liam I'm thankful, if he wasn't an idiot, Airi would be by his side, suffering from great stress).

The flagship didn't fully explode, the back part was sinking, but the front part was falling into the sea.

It would be bad if they escaped.

I ordered some robots my machine guns and now from the same magic circle as before, I took out a huge bazooka.

I headed out to sink that ship.

◇◇◇

Inside the sinking flagship, there was Klein in the cockpit clutching his seat.

"Klein-sama, please help me!"

His servant, Keyes, was clutching his leg. The other sailors in the cabin fell due to the explosion.

Klein was covered in blood, he looked at his most loyal servant who helped him since his childhood.

"Get off me you scum!"

And with a kick in the face, the servant let go of him with his nose bleeding as he shouted his name as he headed for the flames burning in the sea.

Klein watched him and other sailors burn.

Using all his strength he managed to climb up.

Thankfully his magical attribute was the wind. The shards of broken glass did not hit him unlike the others.

He sat in his chair which was welded to the floor.

Klein, breathing almost like an asthmatic.

His mouth manifested his true thoughts.

"Damn you, damn you, damn you, damn you, damn you scum of the field!"

Klein was laughing as he saw that Rudel was his enemy.

He readied the rail guns as his ship closed in on him.

He could do nothing as the explosions were faster than they were.

Klein was shouting things that never left the game, his own truth.

"Why is this happening? If only... that bitch Alice hadn't opened her big mouth, both her family and Liam's crown would be mine by now!"

"Why is that country trash getting in my way!!! Why are you ruining what is rightfully mine? My ancestors wanted the crown, that's why they did everything in their power to make that belong to them, why are you getting in the way of my greatness!"

Klein watched Battler approach, he had a cannon in his hand.

Rage gnawed at his insides.

Magic circles formed around Battler, bazooka and ship cannons shot out of them aimed at Klein.

He screamed at the top of his lungs.

"How a miserable peasant like you ruin what is rightfully mine! I'll kill Liam! I'll make mincemeat out of your family! I'll rape that bitch Alicelotte and that commoner in your face while they torture you hahahaha!"

The cannons glowed pointing with intensity generating bright lights.

"Don't you know who I am, you filthy peasant, I possess the purest blood of the royal family, I am the heir to the Kingsfort principality, I am the son of Franz von Kingsfort!"

Battler seemed to pause to hear him.

"I am Klein-!"

"You are nothing but a corpse."

A voice was heard inside Battler. Then, hordes of missiles were heading for the cockpit where Klein was.

Klein, someone known in the game as Liam's best friend from his childhood, his right-hand man, someone loved by the fans.

He watched as his end, the light of his crimes committed exploded in his face and with screams of pain. His ship exploded into hundreds of pieces ending his existence.

Battler after blowing him up, aimed his cannon at a nearby ship and again a voice was heard.

"...This would never have happened, if you had at least been kind to Alisa. You could have lived happily with her, but, now I will see to it that she is happy as her name implies. Unlike yours which means small as you exist."

Shots rang out from the cannons.

◇◇◇

"-Goodbye."

Ixion was talking to Rudel minutes before.

The communication was cut off for some reason.

He was in the territory of the island where Rudel found him.

He had gone to the Bradford barony to leave a certain important item safe.

Brunhilde was anchored there, Ixion's voice coming over the speakers.

On a large monitor, his red eye was popping out on a black screen.

"It's about time it seems."

Brunhilde's engines fired up.

Ixion had become one with his airship.

He was heading for the sea below her.

As it dove, like a submarine with no lights it entered almost deep as if searching for something.

Then it stopped.

He turned on the lights and...

"...Finally."

He was in front of a thing, a mysterious existence one could say. It wasn't human, it wasn't man-made.

What Ixion found was....

"I was all these months looking for you, and you were always hiding here it seems, but for the strange frequency I found during the attack on the capital, I wouldn't have found you, answer me. who are you?"

A huge black mass that moved as if it were ink spread.

A yellow eye opened, it had no pupils or iris.

It was yellow like a ball, more eyes opened watching Brunhilde.

"Answer, who are you, why are you attacking my master, why do the magical beasts have 0.01% of your DNA? And, was it you who destroyed ancient mankind?"

The strange creature was looking at Brunhilde until....

"JJJJJJJIiIIIIIIIIoooooooooHHHHHH!!!"

It screamed a strange sound that made the lights flicker.

Ixion was still calm.

"I know it was you who was behind the commoners' insurrections, don't try to deny it, both them and the master, they had a strange, almost unidentified trail. Oddly enough, so did Irisdina."

The strange black thing seemed to move, its form was slimy and the size of a whale, it was beginning to form a tentacled silhouette.

"Those screams you make affect the atmosphere so communication is impossible."

Something resembling a stingray with tentacles and hundreds of eyes stared at Brunhilde.

Ixion was still calm.

"...You don't want to answer? Fine."

Until...

"I'll extract the information I need on your autopsy."

He lost his cool and laser cannons showed up from different sides focusing on the creature which lunged towards him.

"I will not allow you to dare touch Master Rudel or those girls, you black thing!"

On the surface of the sea, strange sounds could be heard. These were accompanied by gigantic explosions that made the water jump like a geyser.

No one imagined that on that day, the most unimaginable war that could happen would take place.
