"That's because I don't have money. I accompanied my friends to go and shop. I just look around and have lunch and dinner with them," I replied. 

Mason looked at me pitifully, "Do you want to buy something? I can accompany you. You can buy anything, I—uh… I have saved enough money for you."

I shook my head fervently to refuse. There was no way I would take advantage of his kindness like this, "No need. I don't want to buy anything. I'm also very tired today. Uh… thank you for the help with my mom, but I can wait for the next bus to come and use the bus instead."

"No, Em. It's not safe, and do you know how long it would take for another bus to come? It should be an hour from now. Your mom is worried sick," Mason stated all facts that I already knew. "Just come with me. I will drive you back home."
