Meanwhile, in the cold living room where tension slowly suspended the air, Clyde sat with his long legs wide apart and both elbows on thighs, his blue eyes looking sharp as he racked his brain to reason with something he couldn't grasp with his understanding.

"What will you do after this? It's clear that he is not on your side." Adrian said after putting back his tea cup and crossed his legs, sinking back on the sofa with an exasperated sigh.

"Do you know who could've suggested his name? Robert is a much more viable option considering his wide connections. Why didn't he choose him?" Clyde speculated from behind his hands that were still tightly clasped together.

Adrian sighed, "I have no idea. I was expecting Mr. Steyer to name your nephew or at least your brother-in-law, but the chairman's decision came as a bolt from the blue."
