Cyrus addressed Katya, "come with me. Let's travel out of phase to 1974, you know-between two times-that way, we'll be invisible. Since we don't have a time of day, we should try to travel in that rolling fashion that you and I can do. If we see her alone, we'll bring her back."
"Good idea," Katya said, "we only traveled that way once, but I'm willing to try." She grabbed both of his hands and concentrated hard.
Cyrus let out the breath he was holding. "It's not working,"
"Cy, remember how we felt that night. We were happy, falling in love, and relaxed. Don't hold your breath or wrinkle your brow. Don't close your eyes, look into mine. We can do this, honey bunches."
She smiled at him, and his anxiety started to melt away. As he looked deeply into her eyes, he saw the woman he loved, the woman he was most comfortable with, yet who could still make him blush with excitement.
