Rai's POV
"Yes." I answered
"You mean there are a lot of them staying in the Alexio?" Killian was so curious that he read the book again.
"About 81%." I answered.
"....."
"..."
"Then where's the remaining 19%?" Wither asked.
"The rest either reside on this continent or are hiding there. Very rarely you can see them, or perhaps it gave you a brief opportunity to glance at them. Since they can detect people's auras, finding them might be challenging for you." I answered.
"..."
"..."
"...."
"Beasts and I have similarities. We protect humans from the shadows. They liked it when no one knew they saved people."
"..."
"...."
"...."
"*Smile* Don't lose hope. Maybe you can find them nearby or even inside this manor." Their faces lit up like a puppy.
"But what do you mean, my lord, when you say that this manor may contain mythical creatures?" The count and his son turned their heads to stare at me.
"Do you mean that this manor is home to a beast?" Killian's expression lightens.
With a sliver of a smile, I got up and headed for the balcony. Gazing outdoors, I noticed a red light meandering through the manor's garden.
"My lord?" The count looked at me weirdly, when he felt something was wrong with me.
"Who knows, perhaps you'll discover something valuable enough to keep this place safe." It seemed as though the moon was taking me away from everyone as my body was gradually fading. When they saw me in this predicament, they appeared shocked.
"What is happening?!" They had no idea what to do and were in a panic. I gave them a bright smile as I turned to face them.
"My lord?!" Killian panicked when I became transparent.
"This is where we part." I gave them a reassuring smile as my body was slowly disappearing.
"But-" I cut off Killian.
"I know you have many questions in your mind right now, but now is not the right time."
"Where are you headed to, my lord?!" Count said.
"Somewhere."
"But where?!" I shook my head.
"I don't know." They all stopped and looked at me with confuse look.
"What?"
"...."
"....."
"Fate will lead me to where humans need help the most." I just said.
"So, is this a goodbye?" Killian was sad since we were getting to know each other.
"Don't worry, I'm sure someday we will meet again."
"..."
"...."
"...."
"Whether it is in a different place and time; we will definitely meet." I clasped my hands and closed my eyes.
"May God bless you."
That's the last thing I recall doing before I teleported to an unidentified location.
It was morning when I opened my eyes. I realized that I was lying in the middle of a forest when I turned to look around. I got up and started walking in an unidentified direction. I had been walking for a minute when I heard some sounds coming from the south. I picked up my pace and waved my right hand to push the leaves aside. I was shocked to see people using magic everywhere as I was moving the leaves.
It appears that I traveled through time to a nation where magic is accepted as normal. However, magic was only used in a single country, and that country is located in the continent's center.
Which means I'm in.... Elyarus?
*Sigh, *
Why fate brought me here is beyond me. Although they can eat three times a day, the residents of this place are neither wealthy nor impoverished. The kids appeared well, and they were having fun playing with their pals.
I was just walking around, trying to find some issues, but everything was flawless. I searched everywhere, but I couldn't find anything. I checked all the alleys, and nothing seemed wrong. Everything was immaculate.
I'm already sick of hunting for proof or anything that could lead me to a breakthrough. And here we are in the late afternoon.
I gave up and went in search of a place to spend the night. In front of an inn, I stood. I thought it odd that there was just a receptionist inside the inn instead of people when I first arrived.
"Hello, welcome to Viridian Inn." The receptionist said.
"I'd like to book a room for the night." I said.
"That will be four silvers." I gave her a gold coin.
"Keep the change."
"Thank you. Your room is on the second floor." She handed me the key to my room.
"Thank you."
"I Hope you enjoy your stay,"
"*Sigh* I can now finally unwind for a few hours before continuing my search to find out what issue the Elyarus kingdom was facing." I dropped myself on the bed and closed my eyes for a minute.
*Whistle. *
I heard a whistle blowing from outside, so I opened my eyes. I turned to see who it was because night had fallen outside.
I watched as a group of odd folks entered the inn. Each of the five had a cloak covering them. They were enormous and tall. Furthermore, one dragon could be killed by their auras. Their bodies have an unusual structure, making them completely unlike humans. They seem like beastmen to me.
"But why would the beast-men come here without the Elyarus kingdom informed?"
I touched the floor with both hands and closed my eyes.
"Come forth, Lily." Suddenly, the entire area was illuminated. Before me formed a flower, and then transformed into a stunning girl. She stumbles joyfully onto her knee.
"You called me? My lord."
"Bring me the information about those people." Since dryads have eyes and ears everywhere, there's no need to explain to her who I am speaking to. And there are a ton of plants here.
"As you wish." She disappeared.
A few minutes later, as I was reading an old book, Lily appeared in front of me. And quickly turned the pages.
"*Flip* So who are they?" I asked.
"There were five beast-men and four humans inside this inn." I stopped reading and closed the book.
"Four humans?"
"Yes, the three humans appeared to teleport inside, and the fourth was a girl with a name tag on the left side of her chest who was dressed in a uniform." That girl must be the receptionist.
"What are they talking about?"
"Hmmm.... They appeared to discuss the most recent attacks that took place in the north. And they are asking the kingdom of Elyarus for assistance." Lily answered.
"You mean the kraken that the dark continent experimented on?"
"Yes, my lord."
"Then where is the water guardian?"
"*Shakes head* We don't know where Master Rane is. His disappearance became a huge topic for the other animals living in the water."
"What about the other water guardian?"
"The others are busy protecting their seas since Kraken seems to spread on the continent."
*Sigh* Another problem appeared again.
"It looks like I need to travel to the north after I find out what's happening on Elyarus."
